My wife and I along with another couple decided to try the Imperial Restaurant in downtown Lancaster tonight. We know the chef from another location where he used to work and cooked for us so we were excited to visit. We were not disappointed parking was very convenient directly across the street in the parking garage a quick walk over through the front doors met by an extremely friendly staff who attended to us immediately status in a very comfortable booth and immediately attended to our needs for drinks and start her food. The menu is simple and elegant plenty of choices for all flavors and tastes with a slightly elegant flare. We ordered the roasted chicken and the swordfish with a brussel sprout appetizer. The chicken was roasted perfectly crispy skin juicy and tender bursting with flavor along with the vegetable medley and I ordered mine with fingerling potatoes which were roasted to perfection none of the food needed additional salt or butter it was seasoned perfectly. My wife had the whipped potatoes with her chicken and said they were just bursting with flavor. The other couple both had the swordfish who said it was done to perfection perfectly cooked flaky unbelievable flavor their salads were plentiful fresh and crisp. I highly recommend anybody looking for great classic American food inspired and made by a world-class chef and his team the restaurant is fairly new under his Direction and is really going to go places we cannot wait to go back and try their Sunday brunch this restaurant will become a staple in our family and you can bet that we will visit this place at least once or twice a month it is situated attached to directly next door to the Holiday Inn on Chestnut Street in downtown Lancaster Pennsylvania if you're in the area this restaurant deserves your attention and you deserve to treat your taste buds to Fantastic food A job extremely well done by all
Good food. Sadly the service would probably be great if there were more staff members. 3 people are doing all the work and one of them is the bartender, who is also very busy. I feel bad for how busy they are. They are working very hard to keep up.
Pretty good food! Lovely interior. Reason for 3 star rating is that I thought the door was locked (reservation for 11:30 and the lunch began at 11:30). Woman saw us multiple times as she walked in and out from the patio door and didn’t acknowledge our presence or ask if we needed help, found that off putting. Especially seeing that there was a reservation at that time. Once we did get inside, I saw how uniquely decorated it was. Truly very nice. Again, our waitress wasn’t mean, but she wasn’t very friendly or warming. The restaurant was completely empty besides us, which I found surprising, as the website recommended I make a reservation at that time for lunch. Would maybe go back but probably for a different time of day. Would recommend! But the start was thrown off due to the waiting outside for about 7 minutes. I had to call inside for them to let us in.
Last week, we had our wedding after-party at the Imperial Restaurant. The restaurant was nice enough to allow us to rent out the space after they normally would close. The staff was fun, professional and nice. We also ate at the restaurant for breakfast during our stay and the food was outstanding. There are plenty of vegetarian options and I will definitely come back to try them sometime for lunch or dinner.
Stopped in on a Thursday early evening with my husband (6pm) for a bite to eat and I wanted a good martini. 5 stars for my dirty martini, unfortunately that’s where our good review ends. There were 4 people at bar when we arrived, 6 when we left. In the 25 mins we sat there my husband sat without a drink for 20 minutes and we were not acknowledged again. Left hungry and had to literally get the bartenders attention to try to get our tab. Totally bummer as we were excited for food. Update: manager and partner both reached out. Impressed with their concern. My husband and I plan to go back soon. We really are excited for the food. (And another martini)
Had an awesome experience at The Imperial. The food was good. Their Sweet Chile Glazed wings were really good, and they also have chips that they make in house that are worth getting. The texture is nice, the flavor is good and they are not salty. I had the steak quesadilla and my sister had the imperial burger as our entrees. And the service was phenomenal. Even if everything wasn't perfect (burger was supposed to have sautéed onions and mushrooms, but they were left off), Breanna went above and beyond to make everything right and made our dining experience a great one. She was incredibly personable and attentive without hovering.
Average. Food was okay, nice atmosphere, good cocktails. I got their version of a Cuban sandwich and strangely it was not grilled one side
While we absolutely love the Imperial for dinner, we’ve had mixed experiences for brunch (food was either bland or way over-salted) and most recently for their breakfast buffet, which was honestly dreadful. The eggs were stone cold, the bacon was nonexistent, there were not enough serving plates for our party, and there were no coffee cups. The variety in the buffet was scant. Utterly undelicious and completely not worth it. We expected so much more from the Imperial, whose dinner menu is superb.
They have excellent food and our Hostess was Stephanie and she was great!! Very attentive and focused on keeping our drinks coming.
We stopped in just for dessert and some drinks and everything was wonderful. The servers were fantastic and attentive. I'm looking forward to returning to try one of they're many vegan options. We plan to return for brunch this weekend.
