We went there with my daughter for the first time last night. The food was beyond amazing!!! The steak and chips were incredible! Also great soups- French onion soup and Tomato Bisque. Everything that we ordered was great. Definitely get the sticky cake for dessert. We will definitely be back!
Amazing food, I have always had great service. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bite to eat in the Lancaster City area. I also personally recommend the fish and chips, they're fire.
I don't go to bars but my family wanted true Irish pub food for St Patty's Day. I was told this is the place to go. All the food was delicious from the authentic fish and chips to the amazing corn beef and cabbage. I was a bit nervous going in, but everyone was so nice. The place seems like it is one big happy loving family. Lots of laughter flowing through the whole building. My recommendation is to go on in and enjoy the food and atmosphere.?
Ordered wings and crab dip. I paid $18 alone for crab dip that literally tasted like straight cream cheese. I have made crab dip before and my recipe calls for a lb for enough to serve a family of 6. When we called they said they put a lb in their crab dip but it had to be a lb to a huge put of it considering there wasn't even a fishy smell or taste. I can't even eat it because it taste like I'm taking a scoop of cream cheese and eating it. No thank you. Won't be getting this again, especially when I paid $18 and there was no compensation or offer of a discount. So there's money down the drain for cream cheese I could have bought for $1.50, heated up and it would have tasted the same. It looks like mixed up tuna fish...but even then, no fish no crab.
Friendly waitresses and delicious food! We will definitely be going back! You can’t really tell from the picture but my fish was almost 12 inches long!Update: still good as ever even years later! Make sure you don't forget the desert!
Stopped in with a friend to Quips last week. He is a Monday night regular, but this was my first time. Very nice atmosphere with a couple of dart boards in the corner. There were a number of British/UK ales on tap. We both had the Crab Cake Sarni. They came with fries. Both the Sarni and the fries. We received very nice attention from the bartender. I understand that The Dipper is an excellent choice for an appetizer. We'll have to try that the next time.
I've enjoyed going to Quips for years, and often introduce friends to my favorite spot for great cuisine and conversations. Brian, the bar manager is always willing to help or provide assistance
Quips Pub is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and is really like entering a real authentic British Pub anywhere in the UK! It is a Pub, Beer Bar, Fish & Chips Shop {“chippy”} and Restaurant all under one roof. I was visiting my niece and her husband and since it was a Friday, I invited them out for a typical American Fish Fry. We ended up eating some indisputable British Fish and Chips! When we entered Quips Pub I was really taken back to have found such a genuine and original British Pub located in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Not only the memorabilia and paraphernalia on the walls, but the Pubs atmosphere is exactly like any true British Pub! As in British fashion the large oblong bar was located in the center of the pub with many, many draught beer taps and faucets on two sides of the bar. They also offer a wide assortment of 15 draught beers and many bottle beers. We enjoyed several ‘Beer Draught Flights’ which included a small sample of four differ draught beer sampling. These were very good and convinced me of which beer I was going to enjoy with my meal. The menu was again very British as not only did they have their famous Fish & Chips but also: Banger’s & Mash. Cottage Pie, Boneless Pork Chops and even a Wedge Salad. The Fish & Chips were fantastic and even came with their famous Mushy Peas and of course Malted Vinegar for the chips. Even though the pub was extremely busy the service was fast and professional. If you are yearning for very flavorsome and yummy British Pub Food I strongly your pay Quips a visit, you will not be sorry…trust me.
My family loves this historic restaurant, Joe said he used to drink here with his dad 50 years ago, I love their special weekend menu, but we haven't been to this restaurant for a long time, their bartender is too busy, please You notice their glass is always sticky and sometimes there are other slobbers on the glass and a lot of oily handprints...it makes me sick. I won't write hypocritical content, I just hope they pay attention to hygiene, now the epidemic is bad, hygiene is very important, I hope we can go back to the restaurant again,
Had such a good experience here for our first time. I got the cottage pie and it was amazing! Fast and friendly service. Great atmosphere. Also has a large easy to find off street parking lot! Highly recommend!
