Usually service and everything is great but tonight the food was good but the service was absolutely horrible!!! Our waiter she was ridiculous! All these other tables and big parties go in and out but we were there for over 3hrs! We got our sides then our appetizers. Food was great but service was really disappointing.
The Lucky Dog has some of the best food locally. While I always enjoy their drinks, the food is fantastic. I have not had one bad experience with the staff. Give it a go and you'll see what I mean.
Called to see if they could take party of 6. Young man took our name and had our table saved as we were able to arrive within 20 minutes. Waitress and server were attentive and very pleasant.
Old time bar restaurant. Food is just OK. Had to send back the fish and chips. Don't go out of your way to eat here.
My friends LOVE this place. I find it just ok. The food hasn't been anything other than okay. The bartender can be curt. The servers have all been super nice!
Although the daily news says the virus infection is very serious. But enjoying food and wine seems to be the most important thing. Saturday dinner we waited 30 minutes for a table. Only one page of the menu to see black tuna seems to have good ingredients and high price, but let me down, 80% mashed potatoes, 10% unclean green cauliflower (sand) 10% black tuna... Family had beef burgers, turkey sandwiches, steak and toast, fried shrimp and chicken wings were all satisfied.
Roast beef sandwiches aren't like they use to be. I'm not sure why but the beef was just different. Tables by the bar have the most uncomfortable seats I ever sat in. Service good. They have tables up top I'll sit there next time!
The best thing out of everyone's food order was the roast beef sandwiches. The burger that was ordered medium/well came out bright pink. Everything else was cooked too long in the fryer. The appetizer platter was very greasy. The chicken fingers were too hard to chew, and they were used on a buffalo chicken sandwich which was too hard to bite into as well. Everything from the bar was good, mixed drinks and tap beer poured right. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, but with such close quarters to eat next to eachother, it was tough to have a group of 10 for a birthday lunch.
So based on the recommendations of the PA Hot Wing Group on Facebook for our little Lancaster, PA trip....We hit up Lucky Dog Cafe.We enjoyed our night out, so it was a great recommendation. The bartenders were awesome, funny and attentive. The food was really good. We ordered 1/2 Dozen Wings ($7.95) Hot w/blue cheese and celery, a cup of chicken corn soup, Patty Melt and a Chicken Caesar Salad. This FB group is here for the wings and I will say they were good. Not "drive out of the way good", but you walk into the bar and order these and they are sufficient. The have the basic sauce flavors (mild, medium, hot suicide and I think a spicy bbq). I actually liked the blue cheese the most. Not sure what brand, but I though it was exceptional. The wings were rather large and crispy. However, I should've asked for the well done because they could've used a little more love in the fryer. Also, I would've preferred a little bit more sauce. I ordered hot (which I never usually do) and it had just a teeny little kick.... I'd give them a 6/10.The Chicken Corn soup was different. We thought it would be more of a chicken corn chowder soup, but it was more like a chicken soup with corn. Very sweet and we both thought it was a nice surprise.I got the patty melt with extra swiss and it was really good. Very juicy, and just really happy with it.Her chicken caesar salad was ok. Why she didn't love it is because they grill the chicken fresh and then put the hot chicken on the cold salad. Me? I don't care, like it either way. Her, she prefers it cold....It was a fun night at a spot we would've never found!
Great food even better staff!
