This place is so cute! It is very small and cozy so you may have a wait, but when we went, the wait was reasonable. Even though we got called to be seated, we decided to eat at the counter for the whole diner experience. The server we had was really nice, the food was good. I had the stuffed grilled cheese, which was a burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches. It was a lot!!! It was good but the burger could have used a little seasoning. All in all, it was a good outing. Note: I didn't get one, but the milkshakes looked really good
Simply good food at reasonable prices and great service. Fun 50's vibe. Family-oriented. Will be back again and again!
Went to DJ's taste of the fifties for an early lunch on Saturday. From the outside it is a cute place with a 50s theme. Inside that continues with a bright and interesting interior. The staff was great and despite the sign to be patient because they are short handed the service was great. We ordered out food and it was out in just about 10 minutes. I was not very hungry so I just had a BLT with nothing else. The sandwich was good, plenty of bacon, fresh lettuce and ripe tomato. Everyone else enjoyed their meal also. The burgers looked great as did the onion rings and fries. Next time I will come with a bigger apatite. The bill was very reasonable. We walked in around 11, by the time we left it was packed. Very small inside so you may want to try to get there ahead of the crowd. They also have outside seating if the weather cooperates. If you are in Smoketown check it out.
Ready to rock and roll in this 50 a themed diner. The layout has a 50s vibe to it along with appropriate music for the period.Generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. Try pairing your omelette with cinnamon raisin bread. That bread alone is so good!Want to try something Amish? Order scrapple with your meal.Loved the omelette and the short stack of chocolate chip pancakes.Wish they had a jukebox but for the quality and quantity you get it is worth the visit,
What an amazing diner we stumbled upon! Absolutely loved the atmosphere. The service was great and the food was super yummy! The food came out very quick. We will definitely make the drive to come back again. Thanks, DJ’s!!!
In short, this is a diner we'd probably try to visit again (maybe a little earlier in the day)... and we live about an hour away.Daughter had a vball tournament in the area & we wanted to grab something to eat before trekking home. Found this diner fairly close by on Google.Besides the servers not exactly dressing the part, this small diner (probably less than 50 patrons) kinda brings you back to that era. Though no room for typical 50's booths, everything else seemed to fit comfortably. They even had fun pic opportunities outside to start bringing you back in time.We got there about 6 PM ish, waited for a table for 6 (2 adults & 4 kiddos) for about 20 min, got our food about 6:45ish & they started closing everything down at 6:55 sharp. I mean, signs were changing from open to closed & any unused chairs were being turned upside down before 7 PM; even though over half the chairs were still occupied. So, besides feeling a bit rushed to get out (they gave us styrofoam cups instead of typical sunday cups others received for their desserts), servers were nice & food was fantastic. We were the last ones out of their hair about 7:10ish.
Awesome place to visit! I don't normally eat burgers but the knuckle burger was delicious, especially the buns it's served on. I got a 2 scoop ice cream which was a lot bigger than I expected. The server let me try the teaberry flavor too which is kinda like frozen pepto bismol... service was personable and I just loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be back when in the area.
We had a great Saturday dinner here and highly recommend. We went a little unconventional with the chicken salad sandwich chili and fries and it did not disappoint. Only regret is we ran outta time for ice cream (we arrived right before closing). Would definitely go back!
Our burgers were absolutely delicious & very filling. The staff was extremely friendly, & the service was quick. The restaurant was clean. We enjoyed our visit very much & plan to eat there again.
The food was not the best and it was fairly overpriced. The setting is cute, as it’s supposed to be retro. The staff was a bit rude during our visit, so that doesn’t encourage me to come back. While the surroundings are cute, they don’t have the best food or service. I would not recommend it here, as there are plenty of other diners to go to.
