Had a lovely evening. Food and drinks were delicious. A tad slow service and after 10 it got a little louder near the bar area.
Spent a few nights in downtown Lancaster. Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. Made a reservation for 8:30 pm on a Saturday since that was the only spot open (it was around 6 pm so that wasn't a surprise). Hostess seated us right away in this cozy area with a bar. The appetizer pan-seared scallops with pork belly, corn and tomato relish, lemon shallot vinaigrette and balsamic glaze was delicious! My husband and I both commented on how we'd like to make the same dish at home. The combo of flavors worked so well together. My husband had the pan-seared duck breast with sweet and savory quinoa. He enjoyed his meal but wished the duck breast was a little less cooked. I had the 8 oz filet with roasted potatoes and seasonal veggies. I thoroughly enjoyed my steak which had just the right char but was tender on the inside. Our only complaint. Once our main course was delivered to our table, this large party came into the cozy area to hang out at the bar. That was fine, but they kept encroaching on our table and our waiter had to keep reminding them that we were trying to enjoy our dinner. He did a great job of trying to give us the space he felt we needed. It turned out it was the overflow from a wedding rehearsal dinner. It was uncomfortable having people's butts in our faces for a better part of our dinner, but we hung in there. We really wish the hostess had seated us in a different part of the restaurant. Or even better came over to apologize for the crowd. Our waiter apologized by not charging us for our second drink! The parents of the bride (we think) did apologize about them crowding us in and even invited us to the wedding the next day. We would definitely dine here again if ever in the Lancaster area but would prefer to be seated in another room.
Excellent food and service was great. Did not feel rushed and able to enjoy our meal.
Great service, beautiful ambiance and fantastic food. Highly recommend!
The drinks & food were good. The server was attentive.
the only problem we had when we were seated they put us tight in a corner booth and the room we were in was empty , so we ask to be moved to a table in the same room in the middle , we remained the only diners in that room the entire time we were there just thought it was rather odd they tried to stuff us into a corner . food was great dervice was great ...ada martin
Lovely dinner, server was very attentive!
What a lovely atmosphere! The lighting and music were nice and the people were friendly! The hush puppies were my favorite as well as the three cheese Mac n cheese. My husband and I were happy to be there celebrating our anniversary (with no kids!). I would recommend this place to people, definitely. :)
When in Lancaster we usually go to The Belvedere Inn. This time we decided to try something different. We were seated on time per our reservation. Our waitress was outstanding and recommended to me the duck that was on the menu. It was the best duck I've ever had. My wife had the roasted chicken with collard greens, again outstanding. We had a small beet salad which was plenty for both of us. Add in two glasses of wine, one beer and a diet Coke. With tax our check was $80. The food was every bit as good if not better than the Belvedere. The duck far outclassed the duck that I had at John Jeffries and had to send it back because it was too tough to eat. This is now our go-to restaurant in Lancaster.
First off, we were seated in the bar area when there were plenty of vacant tables in the dining room. Second, they didn't have any Canadian whiskey in stock so I had to up grade to a more expensive brand. Which they should of comped or at least charged the price of the Canadian whiskey. Third, when the food finally came out, it was luke warm. The only person that was waiting tables in the bar area was the bartender & she was busy making drinks for the rest of the restaurant.
