We arrived a few minutes early and our table was not quite ready so we walked around the block..and when we came back it was ready. Crab croquettes and grilled octopus were delicious. Unfortunately they ran out of carpaccio. We will just have to get their earlier next time, because there will be a next time! Server was newer to his job but the perfect balance of professional and friendly.
Came for the carpaccio. Decent quality, but was cut VERY thick, so it was hard to savor all the elements with out “gnawing” at raw meat. Aside from that, quaint and intimate atmosphere. BYOBApologies Citronnelle, my photos have been updated to reflect my dinner. Thank you.
A really delightful experience! My partner and I loved the small and quiet atmosphere. I believe it’s Chef owned and operated which brings it to another level compared to the other finer eating establishments near by. The bread amuse-bouche they serve is fantastic! Looking forward to getting a good bottle of red and returning for another date night.
We've eaten here a handful of times and its always been spectacular. Its a very intimate setting, which is perfect for a small party or date night. The staff is always very friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is outstanding. If you want a quiet, lovely, carefully-crafted dining experience, Citronelle is your place.
Very cute small restaurant with seasonal menus. BYOB and locally sourced ingredients. Everything was delicious and packed with flavor. Perfect for date nights or special occasions.
This is a fantastic restaurant with outstanding food. I would like to try their soufflés, but I can't imagine not getting the carrot cake as it is the best I have ever had. Service was excellent. Our meal was delicious. This is a special little spot.
A sad reminder of the times in which we live. Last evening and with much anticipation we ate at one of our favorite Lancaster restaurants. However, Citronelle did not deliver. The service was spotty at best and the finality of the dinner, the Lemongrass Soufflé was an even greater let down. One of the nice aspects of this restaurant was that it basically informed its patrons that it was for dining not just eating. As a result, the diner should allot up to 2 hours for the experience. Well last evening, it was for just eating. While the food served was very good as was expected, the entrée was served as the appetizer plates were removed and the much anticipated soufflé brought to the table before the entrée plates were removed. The result was the soufflé returned to the kitchen and when it reappeared (we were informed that it had been remade), it was badly made. We were informed that the kitchen staff normally 8 in number was reduced to 2. Difficulty in finding people to work in the restaurant was the reason given. This has become a common problem in dining out and we have experienced this at more than one restaurant. It seems to be that we have reached a moment in time considering the low unemployment rate that restaurants need to compensate their employees with higher pay and perhaps pass this along to the customers or consider lobbying the government to allow for increased immigration to fill the service industry gap. We do not want to see a restaurant of this quality to fail due to a lack of workers.
Delicious dining adventure in an intimate chill ambiance. Every bite revealed a new subtlety. And we were given the attentive table service of a host focused on pleasing guests. Very romantic, a great place for lovers.
Best dinner ever! We love the staff ...atmosphere...it is my birthday tradition to go here. Thank you Susan!
This was my first visit to this restaurant. It was a very pleasant experience. I was warmly greeted by the host and my table was ready and waiting per my appointment. The introduction to the restaurant was delightful with the waitress taking her time to go through the menu selections. For starter, I had the crab croquettes. This was a good start to the dining experience. I ended up going with the recommendation of the Fish Du Jur. This dish was an overall good recommendation. Everything on the plate complimented each other. I was particularly a fan of the crispness of the fish skin. My entree was paired with a hot citronnelle tea which was a perfect compliment. For dessert, I had the classic Souffle. It was well made, light and fluffy as a Souffle should be. Overall this was a great dining experience and I would definitely return in the future.
