Save yourself some time, go to El Serranos right down the street. Great food and atmosphere
Great food and super nice staff! Our waitress, Laun, was very sweet and accommodating. The food is very good. It tastes fairly authentic and the prices are good. Would definitely recommend! They have some fun special events such as trivia, happy hour, karaoke, etc.
Food was alright, probably would not order meals again (street corn shrimp and shredded beef quesadilla). Drinks were good (not pictured)! The salsa is good, but wouldn’t order the queso. Overall, food was meh and we probably will not return unless we were just ordering drinks. Felt like everything was overpriced for the low quality.
On feb 21 2022 Me and my coworkers decided to go eat to try this new place thinking it was really Mexican food but sadly to say it wasn’t what we expected. We ordered those 3 plates mine was the three chicken tacos but I thought it was fresh shredded chicken and it was the can chicken and it was a little salty. The lady that served us was very nice.. The food did not convince us..
Been there abunch of time and always have great food and the service is awesome. The drinks are spot on and my beer is always nice and cold.
We went to enjoy a mid afternoon meal. We’re sat in a corner, went to the restroom to wash my hands and it was disgusting! Tried to keep an open mind after that. The menu lacked a good selection. What we did order was not that good. My meal came with a vegetable mix that I was told they had all the time. It was supposed to be fire roasted however burnt is more like it as well as the salmon. The burrito was not too bad but nothing special about it. Price was definitely more than the value. Oh and don’t forget the fly that accompanied our meal. Not going back there too many other nice restaurants to enjoy and not just so so.
We visited Almigos in August… we have been waiting for this place to open for awhile. We were quickly disappointed by the food and service. I provided 3 pictures of our food. As you can see the street corn shrimp was swerved on a bed of soggy lettuce. This was to be a half pound of shrimp. But it was 8-9 pieces of very small shrimp. Far from a half pound. Jumbo shrimp is 20-24 pieces for a pound and this was not jumbo shrimp. The burger and fries were below par as well. The chichi mic hangs was very dry and served with a soggy salad. Almigos is far far far from being authentic Mexican food. I have visited most Mexican restaurants in Lancaster, and this is by far the worst one. Visit the following places when looking for authentic Mexican food:Cocina Mexicana downtownEl Pueblito on Dillerville roadTequila Mexican grill on Roherstown roadI would also go to Plaza Azteca and El Rodeo over Almigos any day
Visiting in the area from New Mexico to see family and this place was suggested as it recently opened again. So we went for a girls night out. We ordered a few appetizers - Almigo bites - was just an odd combination and I would not classify it as "Mexican bread", street corn shrimp - was claggy and the sauce was odd, and street corn dip - tasted more of like a chowder corn soup than dip. However, the appetizers were half off that night, so at least there is that. We ordered a margarita and a Mexican Mule, which were good. The waitress and bartender were friendly and attentive. For the main entrée, I order the chimichanga, my sister got tacos, and our third guest got enchiladas. Most Mexican restaurants you order from, your sides are rice and beans. They serve to a default over dressed salad, unless you specify otherwise. One of the gals at the table did order rice and beans and the rice was over cooked and black beans were ok. The food isn't anything to write home about. I would not classify it as Mexican food, more of like a fusion, but not a great one.If in the area again would not eat here again.
Dined in once and ordered take out another. Recommend the spicy mango margarita and shrimp appetizer. We each felt our entrees and soup were very mild in flavor. They offer karaoke on Friday evenings and Trivia another night.
Nice makeover of the old Carlos & Charlie's. Only had drinks and karaoke, so I cannot do the usual full review. Staff was courteous and prompt. Good so far.Just a followup. Decide to try to the food instead of just drinks. I am upgrading to 5 stars. Staff was courteous and prompt as before. We were the only customer in the dining room. However I find that this often leads to worse service. Appetizers were delivered hot and fresh. Meals came out on time amd hot as well. Ingredients were fresh and as touted, made in house for most of them from what I could tell. Definitely going back. Recommend a visit.
