So disappointing, especially when compared to when they first opened a few years ago. I ordered a protein bowl, cupcake, and blueberry lemonade to go. They were out of the quinoa - not a big deal - so I asked for extra beet salad and hummus. Pretty sure the hummus was standard portion and I was given probably less than 1/2 teaspoon (honestly) of beet salad, as if it was accidentally transferred from a spoon when it touched the hummus. The sweet potato salad was over-seasoned and the chickpea salad and the kale salad were bland, as if they sat opened in a refrigerator for days. To top it off, everything sat in about 1/2 inch of oil. The cupcake was super dense and tasted bad (a waste of $4). The lemonade at least tasted fine, but definitely not worth $3.50. Overall, not nearly worth the price, and I won't be back.

We searched for a vegan restaurant along our route while traveling on a 12 hr drive, and we were really excited to try a new vegan spot. The food was good, but the service needs to be adjusted…a few easily avoidable errors and lack of politeness to your customers. We hate to leave a bad review of a vegan restaurant because we actively seek abs and support 100% plant based restaurants on our travels and want them the thrive! A summary of our experience and issues that need to be adjusted: - ordered hot latte, came out cold - ordered the latte, a pita, and a bowl…these took over 1 hour to come out. - 4-5 couples (plus to go orders) all were placed after our order and received their food before we received ours (we know because we sat out front and patiently watched as the hour passed and all of the customers left, and tried to give the benefit of the doubt that they were just busy and it was fine). - we finally received our food as they were closing, literally at 2:30pm. (They close at 2:30pm) - a blonde haired female worker with leopard print pants then came out talking on her phone standing next to us blatantly saying “two customers haven’t left yet” so we could hear her, though we barely had had a chance to eat our meal. She stayed out on the phone within feet of us repeating “two customers haven’t left yet” and “I have to get out of here, etc etc” making sure we heard and felt uncomfortable so we would leave. We were fine up to that point but we felt slapped in the face uninformed our food dropped off to us at closing and then within minutes disrespectfully trying to push us out…so we scarfed down our food and left. In hindsight we would have not left a 20% tip at the beginning (which you have to leave at the beginning when you order and pay at the counter). Workers give up and don’t give a care and proceed to push you out. Such a disappointment and we were patient and kind, even but our tongues and left quietly when being disrespected and pushed out. Food was good. Some staff/cooks were really nice and pleasant. Particular one staff member set it off after long delays.

My husband and I stopped on a whim and it was awesome! He had the Cheesesteak and I had the Ranch and Bacon Chicken sandwich. Both were delicious!

Once again, The Vegetable Hunter has delivered: on deliciousness, on colorfulness, on kindness. As a self-designated Kindness Curator, I go around to different places looking for the perfect pairings of goods/services and kindness. The Vegetable Hunter is one of those few places that has mastered the customer experience. I recommend dining on the second floor where there are guitars you strum in between luscious bites. I also recommend leaning over and asking your stranger-neighbor what they got and if they like it. The last time I did that, my stranger-neighbor and I became fast friends and exchanged pictures of rainbows from our travels. We hug. Beautiful energy was exchanged. Our auras expanded that day. Who know what miracle you might experience when you go! #GodIsAwesome #JesusIsLord #ParacleteIsPowerful

We had a great experience: friendly staff, delicious food, pleasant atmosphere. Kosher restaurants are even more rare than vegan ones, so we TOTALLY APPRECIATE what you are doing here! Thank you Vegetable Hunter. And now I am obsessed with your vegan fried chikn and waffles with rosemary tahini gravy and maple syrup and I can't wait to have it again.

My partner and I ordered both the chicken sandwiches and they were spicy and salty so I was satisfied, minus there being two eyelashes in mine and the “side salads” being a bit of joke. The chickpea salad was just chickpeas in way to much oil and pepper and the kale was basically just kale. Sandwiches were solid, but they kind to felt like slightly elevated vegan fast food that was really over priced for what you got. I really don’t like leaving less then stellar reviews but I thought others should know the situation, because we were on the fence about coming here based on other reviews and now having tried it we won’t be coming here again.

We are plant based, gluten free, and try to avoid other neurotoxins, "natural flavors", and GMOs. So of course we cook at home mostly...but earing out we usually at least try to do plant based and gluten free. We travel to Harrisburg once a month and my granddaughter begged to try this restaurant. The menu is mostly for the strictly plant based, which is my #1concern. It does seem to have a lot of option for people who may be missing meat like a fake cheese steak that looked good. My granddaughter enjoyed trying a meal thst the typical kids eat, Macaroni and cheese, but it was a little pricey, no gluten free option and she was cranky afterward. I'm guessing from whatever made the cheese flavor. Her body is used to a purer diet, so usually she is the most pleasant child in the room.My suggestion to this restaurant is in this day and age some gluten free bread is really cheap. While I know it may not be clean enough for the medically fragile, I think others may enjoy. Aldi sells organic whole grain gluten free pasta for $3 a pound. I never ran a restaurant but for a little more I think a gluten free pasta option would attract others. Maybe a cheap organic tomato and basil sauce also at Aldi or whole foods and it can be a gluten free, vegan and fat free low calorie option! Just saying, in this day and age if you try some healthier fare, I would feel better bringing my grandchildren there.

I stopped here a while back and have been meaning to write a review. I really love the atmosphere here. I did not make it upstairs. I did not even know that was an option until a friend told me, but I think that is for dinner and I was there for lunch. The whole place is really artistic and cute and I believe the owner was the one serving when I was there and she was super nice. The food was great too. Lots of unique stuff that all looks and sounds amazing.

Let me walk you through my first experience here. We were really excited to try this all vegan restaurant. We walked in and could immediately notice the disorganization. The cashier was frantically trying to find a charger for their door dash tablet which they had an order on but couldn’t see it. The phone was ringing off the hook and they said out loud multiple times, “I’m not answering that.” The cashier took my order then went to find a charger while my friends and a couple other customers waited to order. While this was happening, the person making food was complaining the food was falling apart. My friends finally placed their orders and they told us to seat ourselves. No big deal. Downstairs seemed a little cramped so we went upstairs. There was a restroom but I quickly noticed there was a door next to it. It looked like someone’s bedroom? It had a shower towel hanging on it and someone was in there. We got our drinks after about 15 minutes and she seemed very unamused giving us our straws. My sandwich came first after waiting for a half hour. The person who served us said, “the other person messed up your appetizer so that’ll be out next, I’ll make it.” Then as they left our table, they started yelling at the other person to not make it and that they would take care of it. She brought the potatoes up 5 minutes later and there was a long hair in it. Then my friends’ food came up about 5 minutes after that. We ate and the food was honestly really good. I just wish the service and attitude of the workers was better.
