We have driven past this restaurant many, many times and never noticed it was there. A friend mentioned how good the food is and we decided to stop after running errands. If you're looking for fancy, this isn't the place. If you want a clean restaurant with friendly, efficient staff and outstanding food please give it a try. Our server had the entire dining room that was about 50% full. She kept beverages filled, dishes cleared and always with a pleasant smile. I had the clams, tossed salad and baked potato. Husband had seafood platter, french fries and salad. The servings were large, food fresh, cooked perfectly and a perfect meal. We highly recommend the Glass Lounge. Many patrons were regulars, but we did not feel the least fit out of place.
POSITIVES: almost everything but the food- Very friendly staff and good service. The menu warns you that food is fresh cooked and may take a while, but we went during a slow time and the speed was great.- They have a porch for outdoor seating in the warmer months. It's pretty clean, but "buggy" because of the trees (great for much-needed shade).- Fully stocked bar! I didn't have an adult beverage but their lemonade was tasty.- I thought the prices were very fair for the amount of food that you get.- No problem sending back food and getting what I needed.- Plenty of napkins! (This is not a small thing for me.)- Server was never more than 3 minutes away.- The bathroom was clean (again, not a small thing at all!)OPPORTUNITIES: the food + smoking- The food is not great...at all. We had the seafood skewers for appetizer. The scallops were pretty tough and no matter how much salt or lemon we added, we couldn't get any flavor into the scallops or shrimp.- We split a full rack of ribs. They fell off the bone very nicely, but again, no flavor. The sauce was bottled and flavorless as well. Both of us had some stomach upset a while after eating it.- I ordered a baked potato with butter, sour cream and cheese. WARNING, the cheese is a cheese-whiz something and they literally drown the potato in it. I was expecting melted shredded cheese or a cup on the side like they did for the butter and sour cream. Yikes! I sent it back for a plain one, no problem, but wow. Somehow the hot potato they brought to me wrapped in foil was cold on the inside.- Smoking is allowed on the outside deck, with ashtrays provided. I know we're outside but having smoke and ashes floating over our food was disappointing.I'm willing to come back to try the homemade crab cakes but my eating companion was disappointed all afternoon and says no way.
The best steak in town without the hefty price tag. The place is small and unpretentious.....but what a gem. They are known for their steaks but the rest of the menu is awesome as well. This is one of our go to spots when we are in the Harrisburg area. We went there to celebrate Mother's Day with both sets of parents on a Saturday. MAKE A RESERVATION. The portions are generous. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. They do have a small deck for outside dining but the view is "limited'. What else is there to say? Great food. Great portions. Reasonable prices. Great waitstaff.
Was recommended to check them out as they grind their meat fresh everyday for their burgers, and you can tell. The food here was very good, not too busy, and the service matched the food quality. They have more than just burgers, but I would recommend checking them out even if you don't want to try the burger. There is adequate parking in the back, but pay attention for the driveway.
Decent size group of us had dinner here to start off a bachelor party. I don't see how anyone could complain about the portions, thats for sure. I had the NY strip and it was cooked perfect. I left happy and more than full. Also, the crab stuffed mushrooms were phenomenal.
Welcoming service. Casual. Very generous servings. Home-made down to fries. The crunchiest onion I have ever had on my burger!
Overall I would say 7/10. Ordered a water to drink and tasted like I was drinking a pool. The seafood platter was very good. Steak cooked to medium rare was done perfectly but lacked good seasoning (only tasted a little salt). The waitress we had was friendly and fast. I would go back to this restaurant just for the scallops.
What a dive, but the food and service was fantastic! Heard the steaks here were good so we had to try it and it did not disappoint. The cuts were juicy and tender. We tried the calamari and those were awesome! Not your average pieces, but were thick cut and fresh. Place is small inside and they do reservations and walk ins. Thought we would head here early to beat the rush, but it was packed at 4:50 on a Saturday. Wait wasn't long at all as they seem to move people quickly.
Service excellent, food pretty good, atmosphere... well, it's pretty dimly lit so to say. Saturday lunch, busy, busy, busy, wait staff was on top of it :) Pricey, but I was splurging for a special occasion, so it was "market price". Best part? It's not a franchise!
Firts time here absolutely fantastic food, atmosphere and service. Generous portions for a great price. Oh and the peanut butter pie is to die for!!
