First, I absolutely love Italian Food. I think it’s the most delicious food in the world. That said, Gabriella’s is decent. I can honestly say, they have no competition in these area. It is a charming little spot with a decent menu. The service was great and the have a great selection of drinks! The serving sizes are excellent. I ordered the Chicken Parm and I was very surprised at the size and amount of food that came on the plate. My party and I also ordered the calamari; fried and sautéd, it was absolutely delicious. And the bread oh my God, I absolutely love bread, the bread was awesome.I didn’t get five stars because I have had better outside of Pennsylvania and they didn’t have Tortellini Alfredo (my favorite). But what we did order was delicious, they did a good job.
Gabriella's have the second best Calamari, but the most fresh appetizer in this Central Area. From a party of five, it was the first time my other family members had Calamari. The Shrimp Alfredo were absolutely delicious. My choice was the Salmon on a bed of fresh spinach. The Salmon was rightly seasoned, without the smell of the sea. A slight crust on both sides, moist on the inside, an excellent piece of Salmon. The other entree were a regular piece of steak and a filet mignon. Thumbs up to the Establishment on plating and service.
We had our first visit to Gabriella's for my wife's birthday. Overall, we enjoyed our visit, the food was good, and service was very friendly. The atmosphere is one of "special occasion" dining mixed with very casual at the same time. This was a bit confusing since the décor and prices are definitely not "casual". The food was very good. We tried the fried calamari for an appetizer followed by Chicken Francese and Lobster Ravioli. All the food was tasty and had a nice presentation. The wine was terribly overpriced for what was offered and for the environment in the restaurant. I totally understand the double the price and add $.. for wine in the restaurant, but the markup was very steep here. While we had a nice visit, good Italian food, and probably will return in the future, Gabriella's is not on the "must return" list.
My family ordered the Eggplant Parmigiano as an appetizer. The marinara sauce and the mozzarella were the stars in the dish with the breaded and deep fried eggplant lending a strong supporting role. I really liked it despite not being a fan of eggplant...A half dozen oysters on the half shell were my appetizer, and they were really fresh, and delicious as well.My entree was the new york strip with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The steak was smothered in mushrooms with a delectable brown sauce that covered both the steak and mushrooms.Certainly a fi e dining experience.
Excellent food and impeccable service. We arrived at 5pm and within half an hour only two tables remained. We had the fried calamari appetizer. They were lightly breaded and golden brown.Chicken marsala tasted wonderful with just the right amount of spices. The mushrooms were fresh, not canned. The chicken francese was great on a bed of angel hair pasta. Portions were just right. Not skimpy, not enormous. We split a creme Brule perfectly executed and just the right temperature.Parking was tight as we left.Wait staff was attentive without becoming intrusive. Despite the restaurant being full, we were not rushed in any way.
The oysters on the half shell were absolutely wonderful. I had the special which was lobster ravioli that had shrimp done in a blush sauce. It was good but not spectacular. The table shared the calamari which are always good. We love going here just so you know.
Ate here last night with friends and maybe had my hopes to high, because I didn't feel like it was that great. I had pasta with shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari, again not bad, but thought it would be amazing, I'd say it's just slightly better than The Olive Garden. The others in our group felt the same way, good, but this place is #1 in Harrisburg? We didn't feel it should be.
We went here after reading trip advisor reviews and a recommendation from our hotel. We ordered a white wine with a glass of ice and a red wine along with a couple of glasses of water. After we added the ice to the white wine and water, we noticed something floating in the wine and water which obviously came from the ice. We we finally got our waiter Mario to come and look he was like "I don't see anything". He did replace the wine and water. I felt that I needed to address the issue with the manager since nobody should be using that ice. She was receptive and thanked me for bringing it to her attention. After finishing our wine and clam casino appetizer we felt we should go somewhere else for dinner. When Mario brough our check he said, " We went out for ice especially for you", does that mean it was OK for everyone else? While I will give credit to the manager for at least listening, Mario's attitude was very condescending. Originally when I brought it to his attention his comment was, I'm very busy what do you want me to do?" I told him I'm very busy as well and to take care of the problem.
Whenever I am visiting Harrisbrg, I always make a stop here to eat. It was super packed on a Saturday night so dinner took a little longer then we would have liked, but the chicken and veal dishes we had were all amazing. Will be back next time I'm in town.
Ordered the Burrata Caprese, the daily salmon special with spinach atop a bed of capellini (salad included), cannoli, and espresso. Everything was wonderful. My only regret was the lack of a designated driver because a good glass of wine would have been perfect.
