I always love coming here, the staff are all very friendly & the food is scrumptious. The waiting period for your order is reasonable. Considering the amount of customers that come to this place. It's a wonderful place for families to gather. The soft serve ice cream is the absolute best!The only downside I found to the York Street Treat is: They have no public bathroom for their customers. Which I was at the least surprized that such a great place did not invest in adding a couple on property Spot-a-pots.
Just tried to order a monster sweet tea and a monster ice WATER and they wanted to charge me $8.00...I asked how much a water is and she told me $4.00 for a cup of water...WHAT!!!! You lost my business and I’ll spread the word. Not to mention they got rid of broccoli cheese bites so now I definitely don’t have a reason to come back. How are you going to charge $4.00 for a cup of water when you can go to brothers pizza down the street and get the same size for 25 cents. Ridiculous.
York street treat is exactly that a treat! This retro establishment has a small parking lot that is always filled. There is no indoor seating but there are picnic tables. Remember to bring your cash to this establishment. The food is typical shake shack food however the ice cream and milkshakes are tasty. I love that they have Monster shakes!For those with sensory sensitivity this place can become crowded quickly. In the summer there are large crowds and ball games behind the location that can cause startling sounds. They also use a loud speaker to call you number. Being on a main road often you hear reving of engines and car horns. Sometimes there are large groups of motorcycles at the establishment.
I love this place. Food is delicious I'm especially fond of the treat Burger and the fried pickles. Let's not forget their ice cream best around
First of all, their food is pretty good for a place known for their ice cream (I highly recommend the chicken parm sandwich), but even better is their raspberry soft serve! Best soft serve ice cream I've ever had! Great customer service as well! Definitely worth trying!
Their ice cream is great and so are the ones that serve is..... Their food is pretty good too. But their food service is pretty slow. Called ahead to order was told order would be ready in 20 minutes. Got there and had to wait an additional 15 minutes till my order was ready.
It’s a local Hanover Tradition. Little local spot with some good homemade food but most of the crowds gather for the ice cream and Milkshakes. Always enjoyable for the whole family.

Just moved to the area and my kids were excited to grab some milkshakes. We have been here two times now and both visits people in line directly in front of us were smoking. You should put a sign up that says no smoking. I don’t want my wife or children breathing someone’s second hand smoke. We will not be back until we see a sign up. Nor will we promote your business of any kind. As a small business owner myself I would have no problem accommodating this request. Especially when your business seems to focus on families.
Excellent food, I always stop here after going kayaking at codorus Park or walking the dogs.
