Why can’t a seafood restaurant lightly fry scallops? I was told they can’t do that anymore. Cream of crab soup was disgusting. No crab and it was brown. Couldn’t eat it. We won’t be back.
Ordered and was massively disappointed. Crab stuffed mushrooms... just awful. 4 no bigger than a quarter mushy mushroom caps. Could not tell if the crab was frozen or canned. Lacked texture and had too much moisture to hold its own. The mushrooms themselves were just mushy. Definitely not worth the $12. Very sadSoft shell was way way over cooked...even the mustard was HARD. The best part... it was delivered and sat on another table before it was brought to ours. Grant you this is a nice area of York/Adams County but still... major serv safe violation.My plate was the crab melt... again... mushy but unlike the crunchy over cooked soft shell, this was room temperature on the inside. The pretzel roll was the star.Service was very slow. There wasn't much business this evening, but we walked in 45 minutes before closing. It took 35 minutes for the appetizer to get to the table.Floors were dirty.What was good... the mayo, friendly staff and blk and tan Yuengling.
We were here for a banquet. Maybe if we came for a family experience, things would be different. The prices were insanely high for what we were served. The staff did not communicate well with the guests about forming lines at the buffet or that deserts were being served. They did not serve coffee???The food was good but the service was below average. The bar area and atmosphere was nice. I may need to go again with family only to make a final decision.
Place needs to be updated, but the food and service was great. Really great place for seafood lovers and visitors of the area. A bit pricey, but overall justified for what you are given. Overall has a wonderful time, I suggest getting their specials of the day as it is served the freshest.
Phoned in an order to their seafood market for freshly steamed shrimp and ordered a fried crabcake sandwich to go. The Bay City seafood market is the only place locally that I'll order steamed shrimp. Quality/texture seems to be much more consistent than when ordering from local grocery store seafood departments. If you like your steamed shrimp highly seasoned, you may want to ask for extra seasoning. Have had the crab cake sandwich before. Enjoyed it this time as I have before.
Service was slow and seafood was overcooked. Lobster was like rubber. Worst seafood restaurant I've ever been to. Very disappointed.
Bay City Restaurant is awesome!! The food is very delicious and they have a lot of unique options, served with bread and butter. The service was wonderful, and our server/the hostess were so nice. I had never been here before but will definitely want to go again!! I got the Caribbean salad with shrimp, toasted coconut, cashews, mandarin oranges, and a mango dressing! My boyfriend got the crab cake sandwich and he said it was very good.
Staff was very polite and helpful. Restaurant is clean and organized. Appetizers were very good. The Seafood Nachos were excellent. Our main course meals were good. My daughter and I had the Thursday special, Captain Toddy's Seafood Combination that included Crab Legs. Crab legs were warm at best. I also don't care for unpeeled shrimp. Otherwise was good seafood. Everyone in our party was happy with their meal. The meals and drinks are on the expensive side.
I am sorry but all I wanted was a shrimp salad sandwich. I got some kind of “ spread” that was saturated in Mayo . I could not taste no old Bay or no strawberry and I actually can’t even guarantee that I seen any chunks of shrimp
Family owned and operated if your looking for fine dining or a warm pub feel this is the place for you because they offer both. This is a seafood restaurant with a wide variety on the menu. Always fresh seafood and great cuts of steak. Wait staff has always been very welcoming and attentive and summer time with, or with out entertainment an evening on the deck is always a great time . They offer carry out also and have a seafood market for all your seafood needs but make sure you call ahead for crabs in the summer as thier house crab seasoning is great and they sell out of crabs quickly.
