This was our first trip to Sweney's Tavern at the Farnsworth House - it had been highly recommended by friends. They did not disappoint. I expected the food to be decent, but I did not expect it to be as delicious as it was. Piping hot and out of this world. The waitress was very friendly and gave us the perfect amount of attentiveness - not too much, not too little.Oddly enough, right before we got our food, the lights went out in the tavern. While unexpected, it was very welcome. The waitress popped over almost right away and lit the candle on our table. It turned out to be a perfectly romantic candle-lit lunch. Sweney's Tavern is now a MUST whenever we stay in Gettysburg!

The service was slow and the food so so. It was pricey for what it was but the atmosphere was wonderful

Great service, though the food was "just alright" to me. I ordered the union burger which was a little on the smaller size; for my side I ordered chips, which felt like a little bit of an afterthought. Fries are a pricey upcharge.Overall, I was satisfied and it's a neat location, but I wouldn't say it's worth going out of your way for - for a meal at least.

Incredible and charming ambiance. Delicious French Onion Soup, great NY strip, and Prime Rib. The pumpkin fritters are a must side to enjoy. Hours of this establishment have changed because of complications due to staffing shortages but management is willing to make your visit the best. Certainly, this is a place to enjoy while visiting Gettysburg!

The place is beautiful and the staff were very nice and helpful. We sat outside in the lovely beer garden and enjoyed the scenery. Me and my best friend decided on the bourbon burger which was delicious, the only thing that we were disappointed about was that our burgers were not cooked the way we had asked and our fries looked like the end of a batch with small hard pieces instead of full fries. We were so hungry and hate being “those customers” so we happily ate it anyway and enjoyed our time there. Wonderful atmosphere, we will be back.

Nice local haunt with a good, friendly staff. They also have an outdoor section on Baltimore St. Definitely popular with locals and tourists.

My wife and I just returned home from a three day trip to Gettysburg, and spent many hours, sitting at a table by the outside bar, under the shade of many large trees, watching all the people go by, as they scurry about the town on their vacations. We really enjoy the atmosphere there, good food and great service, and right in the heart of Steinwehr Ave. It is a very relaxing place to just sit and people watch.

Really liked this place - the outdoor seating was plentiful and not too close together. The menu was varied and our sandwiches were both quite tasty. It's a nice place for a drink or a bite to eat and conveniently located in town.

A little pricey on the food but all places in this town are. The ghost tour was great. Highly recommend Ken for the tour guide.

Amazing food, very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
