I went as a school group and the workers were not very friendly. They were very strict but I understand that they were busy and wanted to get the point across of how we need to go. I think that the layout could have been better. One of the bars was very close to the wall and made it difficult to move around it. They table were close together which also made it difficult to navigate. The food was good but I don't know about the pricing as it was a school trip and the chaperones had paid for it. I would also make sure to make a reservation as when I went it was very crowded and I don't think you would get in quickly without a reservation on a busy day
Great restaurant. Great service. Great food. Interesting and educational decor.
hi. this was mid. the only good part about my experience here was that a lady was nice to me in the bathroom. personally, it wasn't my cup of tea. but, others could possibly enjoy this. the mac and cheese was under-seasoned, but it was okay. i think the ranch was mislabeled, as it tasted more like blue cheese. there was quick and efficient service, which is good. the gift shop was nice too with lots of variety. and i enjoyed the cucumbers.
This was a very disgusting experience. I had lost my appetite after I had found a piece of hair in my Mac & Cheese. If you come here please be aware of the Mac & Cheese. Also the workers are very racist.
I keep raring this, but apparently it keeps being taken down? Great service. Great food. Great buffet. Great history lesson. Great prices. Awesome experience all around. I recommend this restaurant in Gettysburg to everyone.
Arrived, to empty restaurant. Were told after hesitation that they would not be able to serve us due to a bus coming in. Okay, I get that; but perhaps a sign should be placed at the door to say Closed for Special Event or some such. Not acceptable. I had started a video bragging up this establishment but not any longer. Don’t bother wasting your time to just be rudely turned away once inside.
I am incredibly dissapointed. Me and my friends tried to come here today and they told us we had to wait outside for an hour. In the freezing rain. I also saw them serving OTHER visitors. But we weren’t allowed in?i even offered 10$ to let me in, they still refused. Very annoyed.
I've said it a million times and i'll say it one more time, I absolutely love General Picketts! We go here every year on my dad's DC trip and i'll admit it's one of my favorite stops on the trip. The staff are so kind, the food is awesome, the gift shop has great stuff for great prices, and overall its a great environment!
came here on a school trip for our final day. we had about 80 kids, a whole lot for a small restaurant like this. they handled it amazingly. we had great service as they were constantly ready to take our plates when we were done without lurking over us. the food, also, was absolutely amazing. i love it here
I've written 2 other reviews over the years because I enjoyed this place in the past. I hadn't been here in a few years and was looking forward to it, but I have to say it was average. There was definitely less variety and nothing really sang to me as really good like it had been years ago. Not sure what happened. All I can say is the price went up, quality and variety went down. I may try again since I had some good meals and enjoyed the buffet in the past, but I may also skip it and just remember the good days. It used to taste better and offer more selections. I also skipped dessert. There were at least 10 different choices, but nothing beyond a tiny brownie appealed to me. That was good.
