The entire staff, from the gift shop to tavern servers to breakfast servers to fine dining servers are simply incredibly good at taking care of you. The food is wonderful and the rooms in the Gettystown Inn are comfy and well done. We were just there again over night Monday to Tuesday. Ww stayed last year, now this year and Will Be Back for more enjoyable time!!

Always Guaranteed to be a wonderful atmosphere and mouth watering food . Hands down our favorite place

The tavern is a really nice place to eat. It has the rustic feel of what it was like 150 plus years ago. Food has always been great and the service awesome.

What an incredible experience! I visited the Dobbin House Tavern with a large group for an 8th grade field trip. The food was very delicious! Every bite of something new was followed with comments of how good each item was!The service was stellar and the staff were all so helpful and accommodating. They even helped my son try to find his lost wallet. We then went on a very short tour and saw where the Dobbin family lived and helped hide fleeing slaves for the Underground Railroad. The Dobbin family did wonderful things!

It's been a very long time since I have eaten here. First time eating in the basement.Food was excellent, timely service, great atmosphere, friendly chat with a young gentleman from Ohio (a first-time visitor to Gettysburg). Two ladies overheard him say that and paid for his meal.

My husband and I always make a point of dining here when we visit Gettysburg. We seem to always be seated in the parlor in the wingback chairs by the fire place although we never request it, LOL We feel like royalty! :) The service and food were exceptional as always, from the fresh baked breads, onion soup to the spinach salads to my scallops and my husbands surf and turf, DELICIOUS! and my husband always finishes his meal with cheesecake which he said was great. Although busy our server was attentive and never missed a beat. You are not rushed thru dinner here which we love. A little pricey but worth every penny! Don't hesitate to go.

I reserved a table for two at the Alexander Dobbin Dining Rooms for our anniversary dinner. It was a fun experience! The building is brimming with history, and the servers are dressed in period garments. The food was delicious - I highly recommend the King's Onion and the Pennsylvania Moscow Mule. The gooey caramel vanilla crumb cake was out of this world. This building was also the first stop along the Underground Railroad, so be sure to check out the hidden slave quarters on the way out!

They have the best crab dip we have ever tried. The entire meal from start to finish was amazing, even a simple baked potato was awesome.

The Dobbin house is an excellent restaurant, their prime rib and French onion soup is the best I have ever had. The staff are dressed in period clothing, they are very friendly, and professional. I strongly recommend that you make reservations as early as you can as this place is extremely popular. Not for someone on a tight budget but if you want great food, a unique setting, and a history lesson, all in one then this place is for you. Also they have a b&b right next door, that is a great place to stay. Clean nice rooms and a wonderful breakfast served every day by Bonnie, She is a very hard worker and nice person, it is great to talk with her every time we go there.

Good food with a historic atmosphere. The wait to get in wasn't bad but a bit confusing if you grabbed a drink at their outdoor bar because some tables were for outdoor dining while others were for people just having a drink while they wait for their table. The staff was very courteous and it was an enjoyable dining experience.
