On Saturday, my husband and another couple and I dined outside at Suburban. We wanted to try out the Island menu. I'm friends with the chef so I was excited to get his crab corn chowder to go. We sat outside and that was a little bit of an issue. By sitting outside, you take the risk that you won't get as great service and it was a little sub par. I feel like we could have gotten a little more attention. Also, we were bombarded by bees since we were seated right by the flowers. Our meals were so so. I got the tropical salad with mahi mahi on it. I liked mine. My husband sent his mahi mahi back because he didn't want sauce on it and wasn't aware it came that way. My friend thought the Montego Bay steak could have been spicier. Her husband had the ribs and said they were good. I did like my strawberry bliss. When I got the soup to go, it was much smaller than it should have been. Luckily, Matt was able to fix it when I returned the next day. The servers just need to know what kind of container to put $12 soup in so it doesn't seem like you are getting ripped off.
Our waitress was awesome! She made good menu recommendations and struck the right balance between being attentive and giving us time to enjoy our conversation.
Suburban is always a congenial place to relax, listen to some nice music and have some delicious food. Their burger is always a favorite and the entire menu has plenty to recommend. Suburban has a wide variety of their own and regional craft beers along with a nice selection of cocktails. Their outdoor space is dog-friendly for friendly, polite dogs, and the service staff is always friendly and solicitous.
Good food. Although we requested no additional sodium and low sodium choices, one dish was extra salty. Great service. Can get noisy.
Menu is great, good selections for apps and meals. Beer list is fantastic.
Nice outdoor seating, live music, friendly wait staff, but the food was terrible. Very pricey for undercooked crunchy rice and overcooked chicken. Not edible, and no remedy (replacement, comped meal, partial refund, etc) was offered. Iâd maybe go back for a drink, but not for food.
