Tried Underdog a couple of years ago and was very disappointed with everything. Fast forward to recently where I was a guest at a wedding catered by them and again, I was disappointed! There was some kind of a pasta dish with pulled pork in it which was bland. A 2 inch piece of corn that was cold. And lastly the meat selections all looked burnt and the piece I did try to eat was still pink inside. Thanks but no thanks, there won’t be a 3rd chance.
my husband and I came in to eat after a trip to Erie, we were late getting to the restaurant. even though the restaurant was completely empty and it seemed like they would be closing, we were welcomed in and promptly served one of the best barbecue meals we've had in years. we had the pork tacos with coleslaw. we would like to take the time to thank the staff for making that one of the best private meals we've ever had. they were prompt courteous and all together so welcoming. we would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
Ordered brisket and ribs and both looked like they were 2 weeks old and had been reheated in microwave a bunch of times. It looked like shoe leather. Fries were almost raw and beans seemed like they were out of a can. On top of it all they were going to comp my meal but instead they charged me twice.
Had late lunch there today. It was great!! Would recommend it! Great service too!!
Got to try this place out yesterday when I was in town and am very glad I did. Service was fantastic. I had a 2 meat platter -- the brisket was amazing! The ribs had a good taste, but were rather tough, definately didn't fall off the bone, and didn't quite look as good as photos other people posted on here. Not too upset about it as it happens sometimes and is the only reason I'm knocking a star off. Sauces were great as well; especially liked the peach, coffee, and regular ones. Will give this place another visit next time I'm in Erie.
I hesitated to give even 2 stars, but because our first time here was good, I'm being generous. I really take no pleasure in giving a poor rating. Memorial Day at 4:30pm you'd expect restaurants to be overflowing. They were busy, but plenty of empty tables. We were here for the week, but our son & his family drove up just for the day. We ordered our drinks. The waters & Cokes came pretty quickly, but not the children's waters nor my husband's beer. We ordered our meals, no appetizer, nothing special. After half an hour, my daughter-in- law had to flag down the waitress to get the rest of the drinks. When they came, she said she'd check on our food & my son ordered an appetizer as everyone was really hungry. We'd been entertaining the 2 & 4 yr olds for an hour when the app came. It was interesting, sweet potatoes cubed & deep fried topped with pulled pork, cheese and jalapenos. Then she can't to RETAKE our entire order again!So after being there an hour and a half, the meals came. I ordered a half rack. I got a whole rack that she offered to take back. After waiting so long, I was like, she's not taking that plate away. My husband's few fries were cold. The ribs had no salt, completely flat tasting. I don't know if they thought that people would slather with salt & that would make up for it or what, but as high as ribs are that was a real disappointment. Portions for others at the table & all sides are small, but tasty other than cold fries.We got the bill and she quipped that my full rack was only $4 more and I got a whole second half rack, which I hadn't touched. I can't eat that much. Not only was everything way too long a wait, but the order was wrong. She shouldn't have charged for it & the app should have been comped at least. Needless to say, we won't be back. That wasted our entire evening with the kids, was a big bill, and not great.
Really nice food. The place was empty though but I guess it had to do with the weather, as it was raining tonight. The portions were generous and relatively priced. The sauces on the side are so good! You definitely have to try them! I had the pulled pork and the brisket with Mac and cheese and salad with honey mustard. All of them were delicious! Service was good, although it would be better not to vacuum the area when there are people eating there.
4pm Saturday afternoon. Called order in. They said 30 minutes, OK. When I arrived there were maybe 6 people in the bar. Why such a long wait for food? Maybe kitchen staff were on break, OK. Food was OK.
Delicious brisket. Must try the Brussels slaw.
What a great establishment. The staff was very friendly and definitely put the customers first. Thank you for a great meal.
