Best grilled chicken sandwich I’ve ever had in my entire life!! Opted to add bacon & cheese - best thing ever!! My husband agrees!! Loved visiting the sites around Sara’s for family photo ops too!
Absolutely filthy inside. Not what it used to be. So sad an Erie treasure it just a money grab now for the owner.
Short changed. Staff was rude. Ice cream cone was the consistency of milk. Could not finish cone because the ice cream was too soft. Its too bad...used to be a good place.*** The manager Evan reached out to me. He was attentive to my concerns and offered to rectify the issues. I found this very professional and respectful. I really do like Sara's. I am glad they use reviews to improve their service..
Down to earth and nostalgic place to come and visit for great eats. Highly recommend their ice cream and the burgers are off the charts!!!
Such a fun place!! The food was great and we loved how you could order a milk shake for a drink instead of just a soda for the combo meal. We visited all the way from Georgia; haven’t experienced a restaurant like this before. Thanks for the great experience!
I brought my family who was in from out of town to experience Erie’s famous Sara’s and I’m very disappointed to share the experience was terrible. I ordered a plain turkey burger with cheese and bacon as I always do and have done for *years*. What I got was a turkey burger with lettuce and tomato. The cheese was on the side in one of the fry containers. Very bizarre but my assumption was it was a new employee. We returned to the cashier we ordered from to fix it. The cashier was in error for not ordering what I requested. I ordered two cups of cheese and didn’t get that either. The manager (perhaps owner) was brought over. She took the receipt with no eye contact, no sorry about that let me investigate, etc. Instead she chose to point out that receipt didn’t say bacon and pressed the issue. Yes, because your employee messed up and stood there smiling without admitting her error. They brought a second burger that was then just a turkey burger with cheese and no bacon. This was the same patty from the first order so it was cold and had been passed between multiple employees not mention it was touched by tomato which was the original issue. We requested a new one. Finally got the right order though it was done with indignation and the bacon looked like they found it in the garbage. Having ordered here before, I know what their bacon looks like. The most concerning part is when the person in charge brought it over and there was no so sorry for the wait or the multiple issues. Again zero eye contact or acknowledgment of their errors. She just walked away. Your rudeness and lack of integrity in your business just earned a well concerted effort in which I will inform every Erie friend about this so that they too don’t bring family here to have irritating vacations. By the time we ate the food was cold and the afternoon ruined. I wasn’t upset that the order was wrong. Things happen but the rude nature of this interaction shows me that your overpriced, over/undercooked food is simply a peninsula clogging tourist trap illusion. Skip this place and enjoy other local restaurants who take pride in feeding our community and who feel their customers are worth their time and genuine effort.
Such a unique restaurant. SUPER quick and tasty too! Definitely a must-see for the Erie area!
A definite must place visit to eat!! The support the locals give this place is unbelievable. Only opened from April 1-end of September. If the weather is nice on opening day, the amount of cars in line to visit stretches up the hill past Waldameer. Wouldn’t be uncommon to wait up to an hour before you get into the lot. The food is delicious especially the homemade onion rings. Don’t forget to get the famous orange creamsicle ice cream cone!!!
This place was HIGHLY recommended. They have a few specialties that seem to please a lot of people... I especially enjoyed the "Turtle" but it was actually over-rich and very, very chocolaty ... the Hot Dogs were ok, but the fries were not hot and had literally no salt, although they did put a pack of salt in our sack. With such a high level of ratings, I was pretty disappointed, but maybe the fact that I wasn't very hungry was part of it. Their popularity was obvious as we had quite a line of cars and had quite a wait for our food.
The great road-trip restaurant I would ever stop. The decorations are so amazing and the squash sticks are so delicious.
