It was good, very pretty outside seating and the food was really good as well.
I was born and raised in Doylestown and come back to visit quite often. I've been to Penn Taproom quite a few times over the last 10 years. The food is always spot on and prepared perfectly. The service is always impeccable. Today we stopped for lunch, sat upstairs and Carly was out server. She was very knowledgeable about the food. I have a gluten allergy and she helped guide me through the menu. She even double checked with kitchen on things she wasn't sure of. She was kind to talk to and a bubbly personality. All the drinks are great most especially the PATIO PUNCH?!!! We had the nachos with beef. OMG!!!! They we're out of this world. Very filling. I had the cold shrimp/scallops plate for my meal. Unbelievable amount of shrimp and large well cooked scallops tossed in a light dressing with arugula. My hubby had the prime rib sandwich and was very pleased. Carly suggested dessert and promptly provided me with the gluten free options. How attentive! I've been to Penn Taproom for food and occasionally just drinks. You will never go wrong there. Highly recommend for inside or outside dining or just chilling with a cocktail.

Met up with my sister for an outdoor lunch on the Penn Tavern patio last week. This was the mid-point of travel for both of us, each driving over 3 hours for lunch. This is the only place for heated outdoor dining in the area. We had an amazing afternoon! We were on the side patio, and it was quiet and private. The heaters provided ample heat for a lunch outside in December. Everyone enjoyed their food (burgers, salad, sandwiches). Sweet Potato Fries were awesome! The staff was incredibly kind, assisted us quickly with the outdoor request, and everything arrived accurately and quickly. It was such a lovely experience, we decided we have to go back!
We love Jamie Stem hosting trivia on Monday night. Don't come because it's standing room only and first place wins a $50 gift card and our large group is use to winning. Plus don't eat the tuna salad or the burger unless you want to be craving another one next week.

Nice outside seating and good drinks but the burgers and food were underwhelming. The burger it self was good but nothing special, the bun was stale tasting and fell apart when eating it, French fries were good but they up charge you $2 and barely give you any, lastly the wings we ordered were on the smaller side and barely sauced. Lastly, we ordered the kids macaroni and cheese the first thing when we got there, yet it took the longest to make and when it came out it looked just like the boxed Kraft stuff. I’d come back for a drink but not the food.
Great local lunch spot with delicious burgers. My wife & I really enjoy the outdoor patio. The staff is always attentive, friendly and prompt with service. A Dtown gem. Thanks for the joyful atmosphere! ~ Dr. Welsh
