Wow what an absolute s*** show.. ordered my food. Proceeded to wait 25 minutes before asking about the hold-up and they told me they were doing the best they could. 5 minutes later I'm the only person left and the associate who took my order is just staring at me like "have you ordered".. I walk up and ask for a refund to have that very same person ask me my name and then couldn't find my order.. not sure if I even got my refund..This places has good food but I'm not waiting 30 mins for it.
The food here is really good. I don't like to eat meat too much(I'm weird) but when I do... it's chicken. This is one of the best chicken spots around. I love the creativity with the meals and sauces. I first fell in love with this place when they had their food truck outside of my work about 10 years ago. EVERYTHING IS FRESH. I cannot stress this enough.. even their food truck serves FRESH food. Give them a try if you are in the area, you wont be disappointed.
I enjoyed the popcorn chicken with their sauce a lot but they didn't honor their discount offer after I liked their Facebook page like it said directly on their website. The worker said they didn't know about it and didn't give it which I didn't like very much. Also he was watching me select the tip option after I put my card in which made me uncomfortable. This was for a pickup order. I wasn't about to leave a tip after they couldn't honor discount. They do however offer a very good product so I will be back to treat myself one day. In the meantime, learn how to make employees aware of promotions, weigh out portions (my order seemed skimpy compared to described menu weight) for your popcorn chicken or lower your prices.
First time going there and live locally. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the chicken. I got 2 tenders and they were delish! Barely made it home without eating them in the car, smelled so good. Will be back for more!
Food was delicious and the sauces were amazing. Only thing that bothered me is I order a 4 piece tender and regular fries for $17 which is quite pricey, but the real issue is that the employee didn't point out they have the same thing for sale as a platter for $5 less. It was my fault for missing it but I would have appreciated some good customer service to point out that I could get the platter instead of charging me $5 more for the same thing. Thankfully I didn't use doordash since they mark up orders by 35-45% when doordash charges 30%.
This was my first visit to Joey’s Chicken Shack. I was in the area looking for something different for lunch when I saw their sign from the highway. I chose to forego a stop at any of the chain restaurants and stopped here. I really wanted to love Joey’s Chicken Shack since it appears to be privately owned. I like to support small businesses. Upon entering, two things caught my attention. The first being stuff sitting on the right-hand side of the restaurant. It was confusing with the chicken stuff sitting there for sale. The second thing that caught my attention was all the staff was STILL wearing face masks. I endured listening to the staff try to explain the menu through their face masks in spite of me giving them permission to remove the masks for my benefit. I took the suggestion of four chicken tenders and fries which cost over $13 WITHOUT a drink. Even in today’s market, this is expensive. My hope was that the food would be awesome. After a short wait, my food was ready. I was handed a Styrofoam container and pointed to the table with plastic utensils, and condiments. Obviously, I had to gather my own napkins, etc. While I was gathering my napkins and ketchup, I asked about the face mask requirement. It seems that the owner is living in fear of losing his business from an outbreak, so he is putting his business fears above the rights of his workers. I disagree with this business model. My meal included fair portions. There were four chicken tenders as ordered. They were fresh out of the fryer and had a decent taste. I would return for the chicken tenders if they weren’t so expensive. The fries were a disappointment. They were chewy instead of crisp. The fries were also darker than I am used to. I’m wondering if the oil was old. Maybe on a different day the fries would have been better. I’m disappointed with my visit and feel the quality/quantity of food did not equal the cost of the food. If the staff experience was better and I didn’t have to endure the masked communications, I may give this a second chance. If your prices are going to be high, you must have extraordinary food. My advice is to focus on your food and not your fear if you want to be successful.
Great food, great location, great prices, great service! Five stars!!!!!
This place is amazing, been going for years. The chicken is delicious, the place is ALWAYS clean, the owner is friendly, meticulous and hands on in the day to day operation. If the world were fair, there would be one on every street corner, but I'm thankful the one and only is close to home :)Whether you want tenders, wings, house made fries, or a delicious grilled chicken sandwich for the more health conscience, it's all really yummy. This was the first place I ate out again at after a major surgery!Next time, skip Chic Fila, and hit JCS instead.PS - I recommend either the Merica sauce or the new house made honey mustard which is incredible.
My son's new obsession! Hand cut chicken tenders, not frozen tenders purchased by the box, are fantastic. My kid says the chicken sandwich is better than Popeyes and Chick-fil-A.
Seriously Google... can we get a zero star review option here.Owner makes the excuse that GrubHub charges 30% more for their food prices. Grubhub does not set a price. The owner sets the price. So this owner is passing on his GrubHub account costs directly to the customers. Also makes of point that they do ordering by VOLUME not weight. What that means is if they say it is 32oz of chicken they are going to put the food in a 32oz container, not the about of food. That image is $45+ of food... ... drink it in.Oh, and our sauces are missing.
