I've only had one experience here maybe 3 weeks ago and lemme tell ya, this is the local charm and spirit missing from most the places in and nearby town. The booths are comfortable and clean. The owner(?) Lady is very nice and welcoming. The menu is straightforward (I say this cuz I noticed a emergingtrend with bbq joints having a menus like choosing a finance option on a mortgage).I've tried only one entrée for lunch, but I went with a true staple; the smoked pulled pork and their very tasty n crunchy slaw.(if ya can't get a pork sandwich right why would I try $30 ribs?) Well they certainly got it right. Closest you'll get to what they got down south!The desserts are homemade and they have peach cobbler! Only 2 downsides. Itd be nice to see either a fresh brewed sweet tea or those local carton ice teas they have at pizza joints in Pittsburgh. The second is they aren't open for a majority of the work week. If they could just have a brief lunch hour worked out, it'd be great. Perhaps word gets out they will. Glad this place is around.
Our family loves smoked meats and barbecue so we had to try this restaurant out while in the are. We kept it simple and ordered two of the 5 meat platters (priced around $16-17 each) and an order of provolone sticks (6 sticks for about $6). The 5 meat platter came with 3 ribs, a portion of pulled pork, a portion of pulled chicken, 6-7 sausage pieces, 4 or 5 thin slices of brisket, 3 sauces and this fun pig looking slider with a tomato slice inside.I couldn’t make up my mind if I was going to rate the food a 3 or 4 star but my rating isn’t based on bad service or bad food, I’ve just had some amazing smoked meats and they didn’t come close to this. All the meat was tender, which is important so I decided on a 4 star for this review. I think the amount of food for the price is pretty reasonable. I also liked the variety of sauces they gave. The ribs and sausage had the most flavor of all. I preferred eating the other meats with a sauce to you the flavor since they didn’t really have any seasoning outside of the smoked flavor.My husband and kids all ate the food and found something they liked. If we were in the area again we may stop for food, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way or make a special trip to order anything. I also wouldn’t deter anyone from eating here or trying anything there is to offer, as I previously mentioned we have had some amazing smoked meat and smoke our own at home so it’s hard to find anything locally that compares.
If you like BBQ you should definitely check out Donny B's. Everything is tasty with big portions and very reasonable prices. The service is fast and friendly.
Stopped on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! Everything was delicious - tender and juicy. The coleslaw was really good too. Ordered some more to go ?
Wonderful place to eat. The food is the best. Potions are great. The ribs and wings are great. Owners. Are fantastic. One of our favorites.
Have been here before for dinner and it was delicious. Came in for the lunch specials, cajun shrimp wrap & pulled pork sandwich, and was impressed again. Love the restaurants story and the attention they pay to the details. Check FB for their hours first, but you will not be disappointed.
I love this place personally. Started with an order of piggy fries one day... Hooked ever since. Came in and ate the other day, got the piggy fries of course and think it was the 5 meat sampler and cornbread. Well still not disappointed in anything. It was all very good, good service, good food and great smoked meats. I will always come here as long as it stands or their mobile truck is up and running great BBQ mmm
We got the platter and it was great. The prices were reasonable. We will be back!
Hello, my name is Nancy and i have previously worked here about 2 months ago on expo. I would like to start of with the place is horribly ran. The owner whom were husband and wife, are wonderful people. But they would argue all the time screaming in the back at each-other . Arguing about money and not being able to make it past each months bills. Second of all, they made the servers serve moldy food to people and cover it up. Moldy tomatoes, moldy cornbread, and etc. I only wanted to post this because it is a serious health code violation and in no way should they be serving food that has had mold on it. If an order got dressed with the wrong dressing, the owners wife (Justine) would make the employees take a dish rag and wipe it off. Any other employees will tell you the same. Thank you!
Based on my taste and flavor. I've given it four stars. But I would encourage you to come down here to taste it for yourself! Service was 5 stars! I still can't believe two-course meals for 36 dollars with drinking included!
