We’ve been to “CASA DEL MOFONGO” plenty of times for take out and dine-In. Yet I always forget to write a review. It’s my FavoriteSpanish/ Dominican spot. Services is always Good, and the owner’s are hands on as well. The Restaurant is Nice, they also have outside seating . And the Food it’s ALWAYS GOOOD. We’ve tried a few things there and have yet to be disappointed. My Favorite is theWHOLE RED SNAPPER!! ?? as you will be able to tell from the pics ?… You can have the fish Steamed, Grilled, Roasted or Fried. I Love mine Fried. The other entree is BISTEC STEAK with peppers & onions, along with Rice & Beans and Yuca fries… If you’re ever in the area stop by and ENJOY MOFONGO’s Good Food ????????
Absolutely fabulous experience. If you want fast food then don't stop here or order from the lunch menu, everything else is made by hand and guess what......that takes time. For those of you who expect traditional service be prepared for the Caribbean experience of passion for food and hospitality. There is never a rush. Engage in conversation, take a deep breath, and begin to embrace life and the beautiful things in it. I laughed at all the reviews about slow service or slow kitchen. Travel outside your usual limited existence and explore more. This is not McDonald's baby this is Caribbean cuisine delivered by passionate people. Time to enjoy life.
I was in the area looking for a decent place to eat. The name was the first thing that caught my eye. I did a quick review check and based on the positive reviews I decided to check it out. It was the first time I've ever had Mofongo and having it here was a stroke of luck! It was fantastic! The portions are large and the food was delicious! The service was also very good and friendly as well. Highly recommended for the Mofongo and I will be back!
My wife and I enjoy visiting Main Street in Bethlehem, a wonderful, historic walking area of cool shops and restaurants. This trip, we tried Casa Del Mofongo, and enjoyed every minute! The food was excellent (lots of choices) and reasonably priced... but just as important to us is friendly service - which Adriana provided from start to finish. She welcomed us there, answered any questions we had - delightful the entire time! It was my wife's birthday and she added a nice little complimentary treat for her! Reading the reviews, it sounds like it can get busy... so consider trying it at a less hectic part of the week. Two big thumbs up!
I only came for Mofongo and it was delicious. The place is loud, Latino style, beautiful music and great atmosphere. The service was outstanding. Will be back to try some more.?
This was our first and probably last experience with Casa del Mofongo. We waited over an hour for our food while being promised for the last 20 minutes that it would be right out. All the while no one was making any effort to apologize for the delay. This place is definitely running on island time (which doesn’t tend to work well off-island). Prices are double what they should be, probably due to the location right on Main Street. One additional star for the food being better than expected, but it was not worth the frustration or the price in our opinion.
Came into the area to visit family and were advised to come here as they had been a few times. Upon arrival the place was packed and we were able to get seated (server was welcoming, as was the owner). This where it goes down hill. Ordered drink(sprite) and an appetizer; it took 20 minutes for my soda another 40 minutes the appetizer to come out, unfortunately it was cold. The server apologized as well as the owner indicating that our food was on its way and the cook was working on it….another 20 minutes and finally we get the main plates and they were also cold…..unfortunately 1st and the last time.
Omg! I love it. The waitress was very welcoming! And on point!!!! Service was 10 stars. Best Latin food in the area, by far....
The server was great. Very friendly and accommodating. Problem is that the good was served after an hour and 20 mins of waiting. After the food arrived you'd think we would live it because we were starving, not the case. The only thing with authentic flavor was the rice and beans. The fried shrimp was tasteless and the lobster tail in garlic sauce didn't taste like garlic or lobster. The lobster tails texture was of over cooked steak. If they change the cook I MAY go back. Most likely not!!
Authentic food with excellent service. Our server took the time out of her very busy day to explain the menu and offerings and even gave us a few suggestions and recommendations. Food came out blazing hot and fresh. The portion sizes are HUGE and everyone in my party left with a doggy bag. This place is the epitome of comfort food. The only downside is that there aren't a lot of vegetarian/vegan options. Other than that, I would recommend this place and plan to visit again!
