Awesome place with lots of seating and atmosphere. The pizza is excellent and fresh. I am craving my next JJ Hadley pizza as I write this. Their dough recipe is top notch... I could go on, but really it is just good all the way around, I definitely recommend a visit.
Great place to stop by and get some pizza if you're in downtown. They open up the whole front area during the warmer days of the year and it makes the meal even better
For somewhere like Altoona, this place is a breath of fresh air. A modern yet classy vibe with some dang good pizza. I ordered the meatball appetizer and the sausage and onion pie and was far from disappointed. The waitress mentioned keeping my leftover meatball sauce for dipping my pizza crust in and man was it good. I didn't try and of the alcohol this time but will be back soon to change that.
We had a group gathering tonight and were wowed with the excellent customer service, food, overall dining atmosphere and experience. Trey was our server; he was personable and accommodating to our group needs and the order changes we had. We had pizza and salads everyone said about how good their meals were. They do have a real gem on the menu and that's the meatball appetizer -- I am not quite sure how to describe it except to say you taste the meat and not that 'filler' taste normally found in meatballs there is a hint of cheese and the sauce is a full burst of tomato taste with a nice finish of fresh basil. I had my first experience with cider and loved it -- the strawberry cider was a nice balance of tart and sweet. JJ Hadleys is absolutely worth the time to get off Pleasant Valley Blvd and make a short detour to downtown Altoona.
This pickle prosciutto pizza was to die for!!! It was even better leftover because the cheesy and pickle flavor intensified. I’m not a beer and pizza person. Probably one of the few but the Oh Golden was so light and complimented the pizza perfectly. The view from the big windows and the space out front was so nice with all the natural light flowing in.
$43. and change for these two 12" pizzas that are falling apart. I would love to support local businesses but this one is a never again.
I went here to meet my Texan body builder friend and we had a great time! The food was insanely Vascular and so was he! Their soups are genius masterpieces of work, try em out dawg
food was OK, atmosphere was baaad and all the staff gives you the hairy eyeball. But the major disappointment was that they charged a $15 per bottle BYOB charge if you decide to bring your own for dinner and did not tell us ahead of time when I made the reservation. We ordered lots of food and even wanted to buy drinks but with that fee it dampened our spirits for the evening and our opinion of JJ Hadleys as a whole (since we were not informed). They weren’t short staffed and not even busy but were ill-equipped serving us. Very unprofessional staff. We will not be back. They were not courteous for a birthday.
Excellent brick oven pizza and a good selection of microbrews. Very nice employees and a relaxing atmosphere. I just wish the menu had a little more variety, possibly panini sandwiches or some additional appetizers.
Amazing atmosphere and food is fantastic! Wood fired pizza is the best around! They have delicious drinks as well. Ciders are mouthwatering!
