Food & service were good. It's a good place to stop if you're in the area. But I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.Prices aren't exactly low, so charging extra for rye toast instead of white or wheat was disappointing.
Staff pleasant and helpful.The food is not real great guess I should eat eggs.Brussel sprouts weren't cooked fish had no flavor took it home good for garden. Can't get a baked potato until after 4. Inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Soup is good
Today was the worst experience at this dinner!! Ordered eggs Benedict was specific on the way I wanted my eggs. The eggs were raw advised the waitress. She stated “ let me check, said cut the other one and said I will bring you other eggs” so I had to wait while everything was getting cold.The hollandaise sauce was bland. My husband ordered steak and it was also cold!!!So disappointed since!!The waitress acted like I just wanted a discount.My husband left her a tip anyway against my will !!They ruined my morning!!
If you like bland uncooked food with no seasoning this is the perfect place for you. I came in this morning. 1. they do not follow directions for to go orders 2. both my bacon and hash browns were not fully cooked. 3. They forgot half of my daughters meal. We ended up throwing the food away & going to McDonald’s across the street.
I needed a nice diner to have coffee, breakfast, and kill some time while waiting for a friend who was having a same day surgery medical procedure nearby. I found the Golden Gate Diner to be perfect. Right on Union Blvd. with easy and ample parking, everything was reasonably priced, if not a bargain. I had blueberry pancakes, sausage and coffee. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Coffee was hot and free refills a plenty. My food was well prepared, with a generous amount of fresh blueberries in the pancakes and complimented by tasty sausages. Only thing that would have been better would be real maple syrup, but for a quick bite to eat, read up on news, have a conversation or just an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere, the Golden Gate Diner is a great place to stop.
Really nice. Good, very reasonable food. I used to take my Mom all the time. Excellent, friendly staff. I will definitely visit again!

I've only had breakfast there 3 times & it's disgusting. No seasoning at all. Seems like some fake eggs. And please don't make to go orders, they don't follow directions. They just give you what they want you to have. I'm totally disgusted & hungry. 3 strikes your out Golden Gate. The cook should have been included in the renovation!!!
The waitress was the best. I wanted well-done home fries,but they came out regular with the food. She brought well-done ones out separately later. ?
Reasonable priced meals ! Soup salad vegetables main course !
