As far as Mexican food goes. They are not much better than the Taco Bell right next door other than their Margaritas and they were just OK (strawberry and mango which was much better). We had 4 in our party, and no one finished their meals. Store bought taco shells and chips, the ground beef was horrible in taste and texture. The tacos and dripping as if it was straight out of a steam table warmer like Taco Bell. Not very impressive and the service was pretty slow. It wasnt due to a packed day, as there was open tables around us. Was hoping for more as it's a great location and looking building. But the great stopped at the door. Sad won't be a patron again.
Thanks to our friends who introduced us to this great little traditional Mexican gem and our server Raul (since 2006!) who knows his customers by name. We ordered steak Fajitas to share with ample everything — no skimping on the guac and cream— and deliciously seasoned. Fresh and delicious Ice Tea also. So reasonably priced and great lunch combo selection will have me coming back to this new find. If you love traditional Mex with the colorful tile tabletop, shareable portions, clean and pleasant, make Mazatlan a regular stop and keep buying local.
I'm very sad to say that when our food was brought out it was very obvious that it was microwaved (cheese was nuked and gross, the cream cheese was a gross solidified mess in the pepper) It wasn't even really good because the tortillas were soggy, the pork was super weird tasting, etc. It was delivered fast but when I eat out and pay 15 or more dollars per tray I'd like to not be paying for microwaved food. The servers were awesome. If it helps I came on a Saturday in the afternoon.I doubt I'll come again for the food.
We set up a suprise sweet 16 party for our daughter. The staff called a half hour prior to our reservation to let me know the tables were set and the started on the balloons. I had no idea they did that! Our server was wonderful. On point the whole time. The food was great, hot and served quickly. They had enough room in the back for a table set up for 30 people, and told me they could do more if need be. I was prepared for an automatic gratuity to be added for the large party, and shocked there wasn't one. The server got a 25% for his work ????
I'm giving 4 stars for a 3-star experience because I went with a very large (40+) group without reservations, and they performed well accommodating us. I ordered a chimichanga dinner. The service was good despite arriving en masse and reasonably fast. The food itself was unexceptional and inoffensive - I would describe it as an average Mexican restaurant.
We really enjoyed this restaurant- we ordered the camarones a la diabla and spinach enchiladas, and both were excellent. The diabla sauce on the shrimp had a different flavor than I've had at other restaurants- it was a slightly sweet spice and very tasty. The margaritas were good, and service was great. Everyone was really attentive and friendly.
I must say, I had some really great meals while working up in Tigard. I'm from AZ so I get a lot of Mexican food. This was an excellent choice for dinner. Service was okay, but the food was really good. I had the Carnitas burrito. Excellent flavor and filling.
This is one of our favorite places to eat in the south Portland suburbs ~ great food and great service ?
Well I always end up here, and for some reason i always order the Carne asada, but I regret it every time. I'm not sure where they get the cut from but it's always lined with a gristle all the way down one side. But the staff is always friendly. Everything else it always great.
Great food and great service! Love the Camerones! Huge and delicious, enough for two people!
