We ordered Louis Salad, steamed clam, captain’s plate (with scallops add-on), and pork chop. First of all, the clam chowder came with a side was so delicious! The salad was very generous portioned, the freshness and the right cook of steamed clam was a wonder! Everything was delicious and well seasoned fresh materials, including the side dishes of steamed vegetables and coleslaw! The portions were generous so we ended packing pork chop and sweet potato fries. Location is just a block from the beach, relatively quieter than ocean front sitting. They don’t fry everything like other stores which is a plus since seafood tasting better without frying if they are fresh.

My family came here to eat lunch before hitting the beach. The kids had chicken fingers and fries and I had fish and chips it was very good. The service was great and a good place to enjoy a family meal.

Got seated right away! Surprising since it was the 4th of July. Ordered drinks and cheese sticks. Then ordered the fettuccine alfredo. Food was very good and I had an overall great experience! Thank you!

Norma's does seafood really well, and the clam chowder is (in my opinion) the second best on the Oregon coast. The chowder seems to be thickened with potatoes rather than flour, with lots of clams and not too many potatoes. It has a rich and full mouth-feel. Very good. Service is quick, and the food is prepared simply and very well especially the in-season offerings. Expect it to be crowded and noisy during the busiest times. Recommended

Some of the worst food around. The tuna melt was sweeter than the coleslaw. When I told the manager that I think they replaced the salt with the sugar...she said their tuna is sweet!!! Gross!!! So we returned it and asked for a kids portion of fried fish ..they forgot it...then I asked for something to refunded since my kid hadn't eaten...they said they'd see what they could do. My check came ...nothing. So I asked again and they gave me half off the sweet tuna. Why did they make it so hard? Nobody liked the rest do the food. All their fish and chips tasted like they were out of the frozen section of the grocery. The chowder was mostly potatoes, the coleslaw was some ground up green stuff that was sweet (the Tuna was sweeter)! I think the only thing that was good was the ice tea and beer. Service was horrible. The manager was horrible ...they said they were under staffed yet there were people standing around doing nothing yet our food is nowhere to be found. Skip this place! Gas station food is better.

We went to Norma's for lunch and specifically for the clam chowder. We started with the shrimp cocktail which we shared and then had a bowl of the clam chowder. Holy cow - it was spectacular. I could have eaten it every day of our vacation. We went back a couple of days later and had a cup of soup and shared a full order of halibut and chips. The soup is thick and creamy and absolutely loaded with clams. The halibut was wonderfully fresh, crispy and perfectly cooked. My husband even ate the tartar sauce. The food here was great, the service was prompt and courteous. Make this a go to if you are in Seaside.

Uses to be our favorite restaurant in Seaside for many years on our getaway trips. Was really disappointed with omitted sides and overall quality of food. Apparently new coke or changes in recipes that rendered a less than flavorful meal. While we all recognize the difficulty of a business surviving the pandemic, lack of attention to food quality could accelerate one's decline vs build business back up. The fish and chips was below average with a heavy batter. The pan fried oysters weren't fully cooked and the cole slaw was pureed too fine in a good processor, almost like a pourage/soup. Also another customer was seated adjacent to us that coughed incessantly with no mask and destroyed our overall experience raising significant health concerns. This resulted in us leaving prior to completing our meal. While we appreciate the relaxed COVID experience now that mandates are lifted the staff needa to be more attentive to where folks are seated especially with a nearly empty restaurant. Lastly, the prices were inordinately higher than posted on the websites and not warranted for lower food quality. Staff was average in serving, but mostly inattentive without being flagged down. I'm not sure if it's just hard to get good caring employees, or owners no longer have any regard for customer experience quality in this post CV environment? Doubtful, we'll return at these prices and quality of food/ service and wouldn't recommend it to friends nor family.

I went to Norma's twice last weekend because their menu had exactly what I was looking for. The servers were extremely friendly, maybe a local characteristic, but I was impressed. They made me feel very welcome as a single guest, and the food was delicious.

Our first visit to Seaside Oregon and we read the raved reviews of their clam chowder so decided we had to try it. I ordered a bowl instead of the cup. As this was going to make up the bulk of my supper meal with a few pieces of my spouse’s cod fish and chip dinner. The clam chowder was very delicious and rich. The bowl size would have been great if I didn’t want to eat anything else it filled me up. The fish and chip dinner was seven pieces of cod, but disappointingly one piece was just batter. Not sure why the cooks wouldn’t have seen it when plating, it was so small one had to have known it was fishless. The fish we did get was flaky but very bland tasting, even the tartar sauce was quite bland and not very tangy. Coleslaw was good but minuscule for the price point. The French fries were ok, nothing special. Thought for a “Steak and Seafood“ restaurant that the fries would have been hand cut and homemade. Service was prompt. Definitely worth a visit for their clam chowder.

I was looking for a place toeat dinner on a Wednesdayevening and wanted to trythis long establishedrestaurant in Seaside.Norma's has a large menuwith salads, seafood, soup, sandwiches and much more. After a short wait, I ordered thebeer battered four piecehalibut fish and chips withclam chowder. The clam chowder had goodtaste and had a nice amount ofclams and potatoes. The fish fell apart when Ipicked it up and was hardto eat.It seems the fish may havenot been fresh and localcaught.Located on Columbia Streetnear Broadway in a buildingthat looks like a lighthouse. The food was a littledisappointing, but formost people it is asolid choice for dinnerwith friendly service anda wide selection of food.
