Pretty good food. Staff seemed nice. The beef patty in the chicken fried steak was as tough as a tire it seemed. You have to pay to park on the street just FYI. Not a place I'm dying to go back to but I hear the French toast is good. Not worth waiting in line for like I've heard it gets during the weekend. We went on a Fri morning and sat right down. Maybe hit up another place like Whites Cafe first. Their food is yummy.
My friend and I had a tasty breakfast of corned beef hash and french toast with addictive berry syrup. The coffee was bottomless, and my iced tea was recently brewed with juicy, fresh lemon wedges.
It's an excellent breakfast place, especially for its price point. They have high quality food, worth more than adequate portions.The staff was extremely friendly.My biggest complaint would be the wait time for our food, but since they were absolutely mobbed, especially with the elderly early bird crowd, that was too be expected.They even left a pot of coffee and a carafe of water at the table!
In a great spot pretty close to the Capitol building and directly between our workplaces, Sassy Onion was an awesome lunch date spot! The food was delicious and quick to boot! Many of their options are gluten free, and for this reason their fryer is gluten free, so my wife was able to have a great and safe meal. We'll definitely be going again!
Sassy Onion has the best breakfast sausages in the whole state of Oregon, hands-down! Prove me wrong, you won’t be able to. We are addicted to them. I’d been there several times but had not tried the sausages until recently. The service has always been good, the food fresh. But the sausages… Oh the sausages. What a game changer!!!! You will not be disappointed.
Sweet staff, tasty food, and very cute and quaint atmosphere. Good old comfort food that hits the spot with great portion sizes for the price. Would highly recommend as another great family breakfast spot in Salem.
Saved our morning from the clutches of discrimination my elderly mom and I experienced at Word of Mouth. Delightful staff and yummy mochas and FREEDOM!! Did not require vaccination proof!! This place Will always be our first choice from now on when I visit. Loyalty earned. Visiting from California. Now I know better. Thank you Sassy Onion for your sizzling service and warm welcome. Food not only looks amazing but is amazing.
Best breakfast joint ever! A plethora of gluten free options. They had food items like banana bread, chicken tenders, and onion rings available which I haven't been able to enjoy in years until I visited because of my gluten intolerance. That alone made me SO HAPPY. Will definitely be coming back, great service, great food, great prices, just overall a great spot for food. Thanks guys!!
You know, the food is really good, but what makes it even better is the staff. Everyone was just full of positivity. The greeter and our waitress both, were charming. We split the gravy and biscuits and a smoothie. The table next to us ordered the pancakes stuffed with marscapone and stacked high. This was a great find by searching "breakfast restaurant near me." They also serve sandwiches and salads. We'll definitely go back for more.
Amazing hollandaise sauce. Super fun atmosphere. Staff were all five stars.
