Good thing there is a sign out by the road...I almost passes this up.Good use of space, shaded parking, friendly staff.Ordered the boss combo, 2 meats and two sides. I got the brisket and pulled pork with, Cajun tots and slaw. Good brisket (the brisket tip is very good), ok pulled pork (a little dry), slaw was run of the mill and the Cajun tots were not so cajun.My daughter had the half rack of ribs. Good, dry, fall off the bone.Took about 28 minutes with no line for us to get food after ordering. I only mention it because our meats were not very warm when we did get it.
Great quality meat and smoked to perfection. Ribs fell off the bone, literally. Pulled pork had a great bark mixed in. Brisket was exceptionally tender with a good smoke ring. Delicious baked beans! We ordered the pit master family meal so we could try some of each meat…. It’s A LOT of meat. The kicked up corn seams like their signature side, we liked it. Very welcoming and had a “small town” vibe.
This place absolutely rocks. Unpretentious very reasonably priced barbecue. Plus they have items that you'll never find at a typical barbecue place. The kicked up corn and the little wimpy burgers for $2 are amazing. I love the ribs and their brisket it's spot-on.
Brisket very tender with great crust, pulled pork maybe a little gooey but good flavor, they were out of ribs so can't comment. Pretty common at good BBQ spots to run out of one of the meats, especially later in the afternoon. Sauce was top notch. Beans, potato salad, spicy mac&cheese all excellent, Cole slaw just OK. Staff was excellent, though our order took quite a long time.After one visit to Roger That and one visit to Oregon BBQ Co. in Albany, I would have to give the nod Oregon BBQ Co., but I was unable to sample Roger's ribs. Both places are very good though.
Amazing Amazing Amazing. We have decided that hands down the best BBQ in Oregon. We have traveled to many places to find a great BBQ and Roger That ? is the best. We tell everyone we know about them.
Best BBQ place in town, and possibly in the state. Everything is always top quality and perfectly cooked. Flavors from out of this world!
Food was so great I look forward every other or maybe once month take out or dine in. Staff was very friendly. Love the food so much worth the wait sometimes. But you will never be disappointed because the food is so good.
This place is legit! The Brisket is awesome! You have to try the corn and fried pickles too! The portions are big! I can't wait to go back! Great team there!
This is hands down the best barbecue in Salem, if not Oregon. I selfishly want to keep this review to myself, but Roger and his team are always so nice. It's amazing how they keep their patience and positivity even with how crazy it gets. The barbecue is so good, but don't sleep on the other items. The wings are my favorite out of anywhere I've been, especially the honey garlic. The kicked up corn and bacon cheddar sausage are also great. Grateful Roger chose West Salem to set up shop.
