After my last visit, I'm hesitant to return. The meat is stored under the grill to begin with and the veggies are all uncovered with a pretty low glass divider so that was sort of a red flag for me to begin with. I ordered the Baja chicken bacon ranch pita. It was around $12 for the pita, chips and drink. Half way through my pita I found a hair intertwined with the veggies and sauce. Who knows if I ate any or not. I know this can happen anywhere but it just doesn't seem that their food prep stations are set up for the best chance of success in keeping the food free of hair and other debris.
Food good, but.. forgot a sandwich and avocado? #notgirlbossing
First and foremost- their food is delicious, healthy, and freshly prepared. It’s super if you’re on a diet or just want something a little on the light side. Their menu is affordable and if you don’t see something that you like up on the board, you can customize your pita the way that you like! There are a handful of amazing employees as well.I have two major problems with this location in particular. Firstly- I’ve ordered on the app twice now and arrived to having to wait. The first time I waited for nearly an hour for my food and had to work late to make up for the time- it’s not great if you have a 30 minute lunch break at all! The second time my order was started when I came in and asked to pick it up. There’s really no point in ordering ahead, you’ll get your food faster if you order in person. My second problem with the location is that it’s a little *too* enthusiastic about marijuana. There’s been a few times when I’ve come in and the employees stink of the stuff which does wonders for killing an appetite. They’re pretty on the nose with it too- they had a special deal for 4/20. Some of the employees (I’ve not seen them for months, so perhaps they’re ex-employees now) worked like they were high, messing up orders or joking around behind the counter while the line grew out the door. If that’s something that you want to do in your spare time- that’s your business, but it’s a little unprofessional and doesn’t do anything to cool the growing tempers of customers who are waiting for their order to finish up.Lastly, they’ve gotten rid of the fountain drink dispenser that allowed you to have cherry/vanilla/etc. It’s kind of a downgrade and a bit of a bummer, but if the costs were too high to maintain it I can completely understand. In short- avoid the place around April the 20th, if you smell dope when you walk in you might want to look elsewhere for a light lunch, but other than that it’s a nice place to get a pita!
My first try at the pita pit . I am a foodie and I would recommend everyone to try this immediately!!! They have something for everyone, whether you're from big Island, Baja, or right here in the capitol of Oregon. My son had their BLT pita, it was stuffed to the seams with everything he wanted, their Chipotle sauce is to die for. My husband had their Hawaiian pita and it was sweet with heat and he loved it, I had their chicken breast quinoa and rice bowl with their house chipotle sauce. I absolutely am in love with this bowl. They are even environmentally friendly and use 100% certified compostable bowls that have already been made out of plants not petroleum. So eco friendly brownie points from me. They also offer tons of gluten free and vegetarian options. So LITERALLY something for EVERYONE. Please try them and let them know Desiree O'Day sent you.
I went in Sunday morning 11/7 at 1pm. Staff seems completely disorganized as if they have never worked there before. The place was disgusting and uncleanly. The only person that seemed to know what she was doing was the short dirty blonde girl that took my order. She was very kind. Everything else was terrible. ?
They Ignore online orders until everyone insides orders are completely finished. Sooo gotta wonder why would you order ahead if they don't make the order until you would have arrived, stood in line and make the order. No concept of service.
Sometimes the pita is big when you order a big pita. Sometimes the pita is small when you order it big. And sometimes the flavor of their garlic sauce doesn't taste like anything.
Always so delicious.
I have been jonesing for a Falafel or some shawarma for months. Off note I make some tzatziki and brought it with me in case they didn't have any. It was kind of like a Subway instead a Greek - near east pita fast food joint. 4 small Falafel balls out of the cooler and warmed on the grill. So lettuce, cucumber, pickle (no pickled beets) and their version of tzatziki (more like cream cheese) and no TAHINI!!!. Ok, the Falafel balls were COLD, same as the rest of the sandwich. Now I get this place is really a "peta bread" restaurant. Not Greek, Lebanese, Mediterranean or North African. Go here if you want real Mediterranean.
