Went here tonight craving miso soup and veggie sushi. The person at counter was rude right from jump. Then the menu troubles started. Edamame would take 10-15 min. No asparagus for the asparagus sushi. And NO miso...which is what I really wanted. Honestly, if your that out of food, close. What they did have was attitude in spades. I could get over the food issues if the staff had been just a little nicer. We keep going to the Bite and having bad experiences. Think we won't be back for any of the food carts despite it being the only food cart pod in Tumalo. The food was just ok last time we had it. Certainly not worth spotty food choices and rude service. Can't recommend
NF sushi is amazing! First time coming and the young lady was attentive and asked if we needed anything and even split the order in two trays. The timing of when it was done was pretty much right on time compared to the other trucks. Plenty of soy sauce, wasbi, and ginger. Definitely coming back!
sushi is good. But why is the younger guy so rude? He got so upset when It was my turn to order. At first I thought it was just with me but he gave other customers next to me attitude as well. Perhaps he was having a rough day? I hope he’s okay. I could handle someone not being polite but it was beyond that, yikes.
Ever since moving to Oregon I have been surprised how few really decent places for sushi exist here. Then I found NW fresh. For the last year we have been driving to Tumalo food cart lots for sushi. Now they have a cart in Bend! The food is awesome, the prices are decent, and they are super decent people. There are very few who compete with them locally.I will address some of the people complaining about time. These are food carts, not full on kitchens. They don’t have a lot of space to do multiple orders. Change you expectations.
I love the food and the people are great! I’ve been working here less than two months and i’m already so obsessed with the environment and the food. I used to not be the biggest fan of sushi but I can always eat North fresh Sushi!
the food has been great every time i've come here!! i always get one of the sushi rolls :) the only reason i am leaving a star off is for the customer service... it's some of the worst i've seen. had trouble with the tip screen one time (i was trying to click the button but it wouldn't load) and the guy angrily asked "did you get it yet??" no smiles, no "thank you" or "you're welcome", irritated looks, etc. like another review said, maybe it's just a bad day - but this has happened just about every time. very unwelcoming. but still worth a try, in my opinion
While the food is delicious, the company obviously is not interested in serving customers. The very abrupt worker informs all comers that there is a 40 minute wait and is more than happy to turn everyone away. In 20 minutes of observing the food cart, not a single order has been filled and 4 groups have been turned away. Frequently have been told they are out of nearly everything. It’s so disappointing, as it is the very best sushi in town, but a horribly managed business.
This is my second time ordering from Northfreshi Sushi. The sushi was good, but not good enough to put up with eyerolls and shutting of the window in my face. The guy would barely look at me and couldn't even handle a "You're welcome" after he gave me the food. I would try and chalk this up to he was having a bad day, but in looking at other reviews on Google and Yelp, this sounds like a normal thing. It's not hard to be polite and friendly.
Wow this is the best sushi spot in Salem! Their ingredients are always so fresh and their customer service is actually great!
The best and the worst of Salem….Here’s the thing. The sushi at NF is hands down the best Salem has to offer, but to enjoy said sushi you have to put up with the worst service imaginable. They literally behave as though running their truck is the biggest inconvenience. Like you’re bothering them by giving them your business! Just prepare yourself…..Their hours are irregular and they don’t answer the phone so you can’t confirm they are open before driving across town, and they don’t post updates on any social media that I have found. But the biggest problem by far is how rude and entitled they act. If I wasn’t addicted I’d never go again. They are the soup Nazi’s of sushi.
