went with a group for graduation. food was less than average. DO NOT order the Tempura, too much breading, service could have been much better. we will not go back
Came here for a birthday dinner. I love hibachi and this place was great. The chef was a good performer and the waitress was attentive with orders and drink refills.Their birthday special is cool and the free dessert was tasty.
Food was good but the service was horrendous. They close at 9:30pm but we were given our bill at 9pm without asking for it and were rushed to finish eating and leave. The table beside us had sat down around 8:45, received their food and were given take out containers to pack it up themselves and didn't get to eat what they had ordered. Our server also didn't let us finish giving our order before moving on to the next person. Was very rude. Won't be returning
The food was FANTASTIC, our cook was TALENTED, our server was WONDERFUL, but the hostess at the front door was just about the rudest person I've ever met. Zero eye contact, short, terse... Last night was our very first time, and any questions we asked her seemed to be the most massive inconvenience. We will go back for the food, but not for her.
My dad and I decided to go for the first time ever today and of course we wanted to experience the making of our food in front of us. We were sat at one of the grills that had 2 gentleman already there which was completely fine we left 1 chair between us especially cause there was already hardly any room as I was already shoulder-shoulder with my dad and then a family of 3 was brought over to sit at the same location as us but there really wasn’t much room for a family of 3 and the lady who was seating them tells me “ma’am you need to scoot over” with attitude and I already am shoulder-shoulder with my dad so I can’t move anyways plus we would like to keep some distance between us and a STRANGER and I continue to stay where I’m at so then the lady got in my face and raised her voice at me telling me to scoot over. She quickly walked away after that before I could say anything so then my dad asked another worker if we could just go sit in a regular booth which we did but as we went over there that same lady with attitude again raised her voice at us telling us to just choose a spot and wouldn’t move over much so we could get through to find a spot. The other lady that was working was so kind tho an definitely made it some what better but I will never come here again
Went here for my daughter's birthday. The chef at our Hibachi table was terrible. Not one "trick", just banged around the cooking utensils to make noise. The chicken was overcooked (cut sloppily into tiny pieces). Some veggiws were burned and others were very undercooked. The soup had NO taste. The waitress rushed us thru dinner offering us to go boxes while we were still eating and bringing my daughter's birthday dessert while we still had plates full of food. The dessert was inedible (but free). Then she brought our check and wanted us to pay while we were still finishing our meal. I even told her "it feels like you are trying to rush us out of here". She didn't say anything, just walked away. There was no reason to rush us as the place was nearly empty...now I know why! Then when we looked at our check and they charges us 18% gratuity because there were 4 of us!! We asked to talk to the manager. He was also very rude! The food has been good in the past, but we will NOT go back.
Went for a late lunch. Our server was nice! I feel like it was overpriced for the options given. Also a very small variety of sides to choose from. We have been to other places pretty close to the same style/atmosphere that we prefer. Nice to try, but not our favorite.
I've gone here quite a few times now. I've sat on both sides and ordered from both menus. I feel like they have increased the portions on the hibachi side a bit since first opening which is great since I usually spend over $200 here each time and never get full, today I did. This place is fantastic for kids too, primarily the hibachi side. They have a kids section on the menu too which is great.I do think they need a process for when they run out of something. This happened with us, they had run out of several things and the only way we knew was because they told us they were out when we asked for it. That can make things difficult and uncomfortable. Some sort of notification up front before being seated would be great! If I came for the hibachi lobster but they were out, id be quite uncomfortable getting up to leave after hearing that later when they come to take my order. The sushi is probably the best sushi in town. Made fresh in house and always extremely satisfying! The hibachi steak, chicken, and shrimp are also incredibly good! They don't even need the sauce you're given, but I like to alternate between the sauces and not using sauce. It's all very good!
The food was great, service was great, our chef made our experience fun and enjoyable. Would have gave a 5 star review however, the ventilation system is terrible. As soon as you walk into the building, the air is thick with smoke, you have to sit through dinner inhaling it trying not to cough. They don’t have vents above the Hibachi cooking tables therefore the smoke just remains within the establishment. Won’t go back until I read reviews saying the fixed the air ventilation system.
Asked for "utensils and napkins etc" full sushi order, extra spicy mayo and soy sauce. They made sure to charge us 3$ for extra spicy mayo/soy sauce. Not a single chopstick or soy sauce pack. tiny portions of 15$ sushi. I guess that's what you get when you expect decent sushi from a restaurant in Salem. Stick to burgers around here I guess. Crazy to spend almost 100$ here and be better off with convenience store sushi.
