Bomb! Visiting Salem for the first time (and Oregon) and needed fuel for the Ironman tomorrow. The chicken rice bowl was so good! The homemade sauce on the spicy chicken was delicious. Friendly service and affordable prices.
New owners, great food, exceptional sauces and very reasonable prices! They are still putting things together, getting ready to introduce the new sushi bar, coming soon! It's not fast food so expect a little wait around dinner time. Call ahead if u don't want to wait... I highly recommend the chicken yakisoba! The gyozas are great and the homemade sauce is epic!
Amazing little place! Food was phenomenal but the hot sauce was better. It had amazing flavor and was the best I’ve had.
Really cool people and very very good food, honestly I feel like it's the best I've had in salem. Chicken was cooked perfect, very little fat and no slimy textures. Rice was very good too and there is no topping the homemade sauces and marinades. If I could give more then 5 stars I would. Very good food, very people oriented, qnd all about making sure customer experiences are as best as they can be. I will be back with out a doubt!!!
The new owners are both very friendly and love doing what they are doing. Nice clean retaurant.I got the chicken terriyaki and gyoza and both were very delicious. The foos definitely better now with the new owners. My chicken was not too charred for a change compared to previously. I will now be a regular.My husband got the spicy chicken which he asked for it to be extra spicy and it was delicious. If you love extra spicy then ask for the owners extra spicy seasoning.They make all of their sauces in house. They have the best terriyaki sauce. Also try their house salad dressing. I really didnt want the dressing at first because I usually hate anything with ginger but this dressing changed my mind. Omg it's so yummy which I could drink.lol. I want that salad dressing on everything.The new owners have so many new plans for the restaurant which are going to amazing. I can't wait to see the new changes. There is going to be a nice sushi bar in the future. The restaurant has a nice cozy atmosphere that makes it a nice place to hang out. Sometimes, when new owners take over a well established business it can be a toss up. That is not the case with J's Teriyaki. It is just as good, if not better than before. Chicken is still grilled to order. Sauces are still made in house and are delicious. The owner has even added a variety of his own hot sauces. I tried the medium and found it to have great flavor with a decent amount of heat. Make sure to stop by and get some of Salem's best teriyaki.
We went to J's tonight. We've been going to J's for about 3 years and have always enjoyed it. Tonight we found out there were new owners and they are just as wonderful as the last owners.The food and service were excellent. The chicken teriyaki was very fresh, it had no fat on it, and was grilled perfectly. The gyoza was crispy, but not too crispy just like I like them.They are doing a lot of remodeling to improve the kitchen. The food quality shows the improvements they've already made. If you haven't tried them you should stop by.
So I have not tried this place before today, so I have no idea what the food was like before the new owners.The new owners are rightfully proud that they make all their sauces in house: they were excellent! The meat was tender and didn't have any fat (something my wife is particular about), and the portions were quite large, especially for the price!We got the teriyaki chicken and the gyoza, which were both amazing and tasty!The new owners were also both incredibly friendly and warm, and seemed to really enjoy what they were doing!I do not know what this place was like before, but I can say that my wife and I will be continuing to get food here in the future!
Food was great with Good flavor. Staff where very helpful ands nice. Highly recommend to stop to get a good meal worth the price.Should ask for the sauce. tasty and spicy
By far the nicest folks with the best Teriyaki in town for sure. The most spicy food you can handle if you ask for it. I truly hope you get to try this place out. I had the hot and spicy chicken EXTRA SPICY as you can see and it pretty much defeated me. I finished my plate enjoying every bite while trying not to scorch my plate with my fire breath with my wife laughing beside me. ? REALLY REALLY good food. The house dressing is amazing as well. Great portions with speedy and great service.
