Jade and Bingo will hook you up! This is one of our favorite spots in Salem. The food is hot and delicious, and their house-made chili oil/paste should really be sold commercially. We tried the Singapore Rice Noodles last time and will definitely be getting those again. Cheers.

I'll preface this review by saying that I've worked in kitchens for almost 15 years. So I have a fairly decent idea of what I'm talking about. We ordered -Pot stickersThe Happy Family ComboBeef and BroccoliSweet and Sour ShrimpAnd Pork Fried Rice. The food was as bland as anything I've ever tasted. The potstickers tasted like nothing. No seasoning, no spice, literally just protein wrapped in gluten. All of the sauces were water thin and flavorless. There was a lake of sauce in the bottom of our to go containers but none of it stuck the the food when you scooped it out. Some of the veggies were very well cooked, and others were very raw.The pork fried rice was just white rice with stuff mixed jnto it. You can tell because the rice has no color on it, which would indicate that it was cooked together in the pan with the other ingredients. Instead it's just plain white rice with bits of pork and egg mixed in.The broccoli tasted like it was cooked on a very dirty flattop. You know the flavor, that musty old Grease flavor that comes from splashing water on a grill to steam cook veggies, when the grill is covered in old food grease.I ate a few bites and gave up. I've had better Chinese food at Safeway for 1/2 the price.Being a chef, I don't usually complain about food because I know everyone has bad days in the kitchen, but this was by far one of the worst meals I've eaten this year.I will say on a positive note though. The portions were huge, and the food was hot. However we will not be going back.

Absolutely delicious! Seriously go here and try their food! We went on a Friday night and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Super friendly staff and great service.

My friends and I had really really good Chinese food here. We dined in and it was wonderful. The place is small and cozy decorated beautifully. The server was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Okay, now, the part you really care about ... The food. The menu has lots to choose from. We chose a mix of dishes including beef, chicken, and pork, along with white and fried rice, plus egg rolls. The meats were tender and flavorful and the vegitables we're garden fresh. I noticed here that the food is not too salty as you find in many Chinese restaurants. They have real flavor from the ingredients without having to over salt and sauce. My only regret is that once the food came I forgot all about taking pictures for you. You'll have to wait for me to go back, or just go yourself. You won't be disappointed.

The Mushroom Shrimp dinner with zucchini, carrots, mushrooms and fried rice. Veggies were fresh and tender, sauce was delicious! Too much for one meal.....I love leftovers!

The hostess was very cordial and I didn't wait long for my order always a pleasure to go there and the food is great you definitely get your money's worth

I had read all the reviews and everyone has been giving five stars to this place so I decided to order from there and customer service is good flavors of food is OK the cost is this too much for what they give you I ordered two sweet-and-sour shrimp and there was maybe four shrimps in it disappointing,.

The food here is absolutely amazing and delicious. Was blown away by the portion size and taste. In the photos here are garlic beef (spicy) with steamed rice, seseme chicken with fried rice, and the beef Singapore rice noodles. You can choose different meat and even veggie options depending on your preference. The building is small and the parking is a little wonky. But I'm definately coming here for the food again and again. I got a 'super hot' (they have varying levels of spices you can choose from if you ask the waitress). I felt a spicy pepper kick and can say it was surprising to finally have a food that was actually spicy (most places say food is spicy when my tolerance says otherwise).

I'm surprised more people have not gone to or talked about China Gourmet. As a Korean American, I've tried plenty of Asian restaurants in Salem and unfortunately, there are not many that make me happy. My sister and I came here by chance after visiting two other restaurants that were closed. The visit here just happened to be a happy accident. We ordered the Sesame Chicken, Garlic Sauce Beef, and their special (not on the menu) Beef Singapore Rice Noodles. The portions are big and if you're someone with a big appetite like me, you'll be leaving here comfortably full. If you can handle spice then get their extra hot. It's not your typical American hot and spicy. It's that actual Asian hot and spicy. Had me sweating a bit. Definitely give this place a try. Just a heads up the parking is shared with an autobody shop so parking will be limited. Might have to park across the street and walk over.

Jeff you shouldn't use toothpaste before you go out to eat, giving this place less then ***** Star's is just another place of business being jealous for what these awesome cook's put out in this restaurant. I have to say this restaurant is absolutely the best I have eaten at, I haven't had food this good in any Chinese restaurant in Oregon Although I do give honest reviews this one takes 1st place, We had sesame chicken, mushroom chicken and gourmet fried rice with 8 amazingly tasty spring rolls was a better deal and very healthy portions and piping hot. I would recommend anyone that thinks they have the best Chinese place to eat, to come try the best..I'LL BE BACK!! oh not to forget the peanut people that give bad reviews, y'all know Chinese places use peanut oil and sauce it the way the food is cooked so maybe ya should keep eating American food, but I guess it's a way to get a free meal if your that hard up..
