Very nice, cozy eatery with a nice menu and even nicer staff. Service was very good with servers being super friendly and just nice. Food was delicious, I had the special, meatball sandwich which was made with very good care. Bread was buttered and toasted to show how much they put into every dish. Great breakfast, lunch spot in salem.
This is a cozy cafe that I would like to return to. The meals looked really good, but we were just there for ice cream. The staff could do much better. We were asked to wait, then about 20 minutes later, they offered to seat us at the bar, which was available when we walked in. They did the same thing to a family who was waiting when we arrived. We actually watched servers play not it, when it came to waiting on customers. There was one staff member who was really efficient and took care of guests while the other two screwed around. All this happened a few feet from us.So other than needing some staff who care about providing good service, I'd say this is a great place for a hot lunch on a rainy day.
There was once a time this was a great breakfast spot. Unfortunately the last few years have been not so great and I would not recommend this place. Sorry they can’t blame the pandemic when so many breakfast spots in Salem continued to operate with pleasant service and food. Such a shame Acme was once highly recommended and now it is being known for bad service and food. How did they go so wrong so fast?
Acme Cafe is known for their chicken and waffles and so I needed to try! I wasn’t disappointed! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Delicious! They also have a delicious eggs Benedict and traditional breakfast dishes. The service was great and very friendly staff. We will come again! They could use a little updating:)
Great service, great food. The bbq Angus burger was tasty, the house made bread was delicious and soft, fries were crispy, the acme sauce was the best.Don't order the burger well done, whoops, medium well is perfect. Great service, greeted and seated quickly. Very helpful and prompt, pleasant experience.Minor things: they really need a charcoal filter for the water, the chlorine taste is strong. The fried onions were either soggy or rock hard. We'll definitely be back for another burger. I also want to try their beer battered fresh rockfish in the fish and chips. The chicken and waffles looked popular. Great place for kids, small groups.Overall a nice fun place.
Phenomenal breakfast. Great fresh ingredients, friendly service and cool atmosphere. FULL BAR annnnnd house made ice cream. Shut up and take my advice…EAT HERE!
New management but well run still. We got to test their new menu item for free. The homemade chips were impeccable. Hard to find Ruben sandwiches. I never regret making the trip to ACME.
Went at a Sunday peak breakfast and I was utterly impressed with the efficiency. After a short wait (15 min) to be seated, service was quick and to the point, staff was intentional, and the food was great. In and out in 30 mins, two thumbs up. I'll be back.
Love this place. The wonderful older gentleman who manages the place, or is the owner, I’m not sure but he’s always there, is so polite and always excited to see people coming through the door. You can tell he cares and he tries to make sure everyone has a great experience. Good food, and great mimosas (so many choices!). We usually go for breakfast but I’d love to try their dinner menu sometime too!
This place used to be so much better. Portion sizes have shrank while cost went up, quality went from outstanding to acceptable, my goto (chicken Benedict) was dry with sparse amounts of gravy and dry mealy potatoes at iur last visit. We noticed our favorite servers don't work there anymore and you'll be hard pressed to find any worker smiling. With the amount of good breakfast spots in Salem, I just feel there is better food at an affordable price.
