The Yukon Tavern is exactly as it is meant to be: a friendly neighborhood "dive" bar with a simple menu, tasty drinks, and a comfortable vibe (Especially since the new owners took over). I appreciate the vaccination requirements and The crew is always a joy to converse with. I love that they extended the outdoor seating. The chicken Tenders are my go to everytime, their fries are perfect, and they offer a local hotsauce that is out of this world.I love that this place is such a short walk from home for those nights when I just don't wanna cook. Plus they are very sweet to my little dog and welcome his presence out on the patio.I agree this isn't a destination bar, but if you're in the area and dig s laid back, unpretentious vibe, you're our kind of people and you'll probably dig our spot.

Just your friendly neighborhood dive bar. Nice staff. Don't order anything fancy here. Keep it simple. Gin and tonic. Vodka soda. That sort of thing. Beers and ciders are great. You know...standard dive bar stuff.

A great spot for drinks, the bar staff is very chill and friendly

Visiting the fam, staying in the neighborhood, exhausted from a day of online work, just wanted a nearby salad & a nice glass of wine. what a very pleasant surprise this place was. caesar salad yummy & generous, friendly staff, good movie on the telly, nice chat w folks @ the bar. not a 5 only because wine selection was pretty slim.

Great staff, good drinks and small but good menu, and kitchen stays open very late. Bring your vaccination card and a a couple friends to play shuffleboard and try your hand at one of a few pinball machines while you enjoy great chicken strips or one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the tavern business. Get a side of ceasar salad in lieu of the crunchy shoestring fries, maybe get a big salad or a bacon cheese burger. It's all good.

Any recent 1 star reviews are left by anti-vaxxers who have never even attempted to walk in the door. One of the best neighborhood bars in Portland.

Stopped in for a drink while waiting for a table next door. Good beer selections, pretty standard old school tavern feel but with video slots. Absolutely love and appreciate that they require vaccination cards!

The trusty Yukon Tavern, as late, has been the victim of some review-bombing from folks disgruntled with the vaccine requirement. I'm pretty dubious on if a lot of them have even been in, as opposed to just having sour grapes. So this is an attempt to set the record straight: you really can't ask for a much better neighborhood watering hole than this. The menu is straightforward bar food, but well-made. The bartenders are chill and friendly. The vibe is relaxed. The beer selection is fairly modest, but well-curated. And there's pinball. Also, small thing, but every time I've gone in there's either been good sports or a good movie playing on the TV. The last time I grabbed a pint and a burger, they were wrapping up Three Days of the Condor, then put on Dirty Work (Norm Macdonald having just passed away a few days before). Is this a destination bar? No. But if you live in the hood or find yourself nearby, the Yukon Tavern is like a warm blanket.

My favorite bar in sellwood kind of went downhill, so I was looking for a new spot. Had to show proof of vaccination and ID to look at their menu. So I showed all the info they wanted.. there's nothing special about their food. I ended up just going to 7-11 for a $1 hotdog. No uncomfortable interactions, or special documentation needed. Also much less expensive. If they're going to require first class documentation, they need first class food. Not deep fried pickles and hamburgers. Will not be back.
