It's a nice laid back atmosphere and the bartender is really nice. I had a burger and it was ok I guess. I haven't eaten there much so I can't comment on that much on their food.
Haven't been there in awhile. The fish and chips was great, server was very quick and attentive. Very nice, relaxing lunch, watching a bit of ladies golf.
I've been coming here for a few years and their food is always great. Good drinks and good times with the pool tables. Always a blast.
Love the halibut fish and chips. Nothing better. Went on a Friday at 6pm. Be prepared to wait when super busy. If you are not in a hurry it's a great place to go. Sports on every wall. So much to look at. Any drink you can think of. The only thing I would think could be better is more chair seating. Sitting on a bar stool isn't very comfortable after work/back support.
Touts itself as a sports bar first and restaurant second, but they have food specials 5 days a week (see photo) and the wait staff is refreshingly candid as to what is good and what is not so great to order. A winner.
Food is always amazing along with the service. Some of the best halibut fish and chips in Portland. Daily specials and a pretty swinging dance floor you can't go wrong
Called after a concert to see if they had fish and chips, Andrew answered and said he would check, he did inform us that they could do it. Upon arrival we were welcomed warmly and Andrew was very friendly and quick on refills, not once did we have to wait for anything. Andrew is amazing! Great portions! Great prices! Fish and chips, fish was a hefty portion and not greasy or waterlogged at all. Tator tots were crisp and not greasy like other places I've been. If you ever come here you've also got to try the garlic cheese curds. Absolutely delicious.Andrew thank you for your kind and efficient service, you are an absolute gem of a human! Will definitely recommend and return.
It is always a wonderful to experience when I go there. The servers are friendly, and always prompt with my items. This is the reason why I continue to come back!. I recommend this place to everyone!. It's family friendly.
My friend and I were searching around Portland for Fish and Chips late night (after 11pm) on Easter Sunday and happened upon the Wooden Chicken. They don't usually have Fish and Chips on their late night menu but Andrew said he knew how to cook Fish and Chips and could whip us up some. (When people say they can cook Fish and Chips, I usually say "yeah, yeah" ?) ANDREW CAN COOK FISH AND CHIPS! (And tots and cheese curds). They were cooked perfectly; they weren't too done, they weren't water or grease logged. I tend to mat my Fish with napkoms or paper towels because I hate the grease; these did not need it. The cheese curds were battered in herbs and delicious. We will be driving back from Salem to get Fish and Chips when Andrew is working.
The staff was friendly and engaging. The food was tasty. The prices are reasonable. Definitely worth the visit.
