This is the place where I take my friends and family the most. I was so worried they'd close during covid that I bought take out from them weekly. The Chile Relleno is the BEST. I'm obsessed with it. My dad likes to salmon, and my sons love the tacos and quesadillas. The Buenos Dias breakfast is delicious as well. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant! The staff is amazing as well and you really feel like you're family there.
I like the healthy take on Mexican food from this place. I do not find the food bland. If what you’re looking for is the kind of mainstream Mexican food which is spice and condiment laden to hide out poor quality and greasy ingredients then this is not it. I feel the food from this place is for those wanting to eat naturally great tasting Mexican food with quality ingredients; hence the name Verde. We have eaten at two locations of this joint and both times have been very pleased. We got the Carne Asada Salad, Steak Tacos and the kid’s Quesadilla. They were as tasty as the pictures look.
Drinks overpriced, small food portions and service was the worst ! Don’t bother ! I drove a ways to find this place, will never go back
What happened to this place ? We were kind of disappointed, we had always liked it, but recently we were not satisfied with the food/quality, specially for what they charge you for.
stumbled upon this cozy spot after a portland stair walk and the server welcomed us in. everyone was very friendly and accommodating. there is seating upstairs and private outdoor tables. we had a baby and they had a great high chair (oxo sprout). the pork enchiladas with egg and avo were fresh and had a delicious coconut sauce. the menu had lots of vegetarian and meat options. would recommend to a friend. ask for their warm cocktail menu if it’s a chilly day.
So delicious and the nicest staff. Best eating atmosphere ever.
Consistently excellent.I’ve ate here countless times over the last decade, including breakfasts, lunches, dinners and drinks. The staff are always super friendly and the food is always excellent.
I liked the second floor dining. I immediately felt relaxed and wanted to enjoy my dining experience. The house made salsa and guacamole were good, and the drinks were excellent. My dining party ordered the shrimp fajitas and the steak fajitas. It looked really good, but it was extremely bland. I really like bold flavors and was pretty disappointed because it looked like it was gonna be awesome. I'll definitely try it again, but it may just be my place for drinks and appetizers.
I've been to this restaurant 4-5 times a year for many years now and it's always fabulous. I don't know why I've never written a review. If you're looking for the puddle of food you get at other Mexican restaurants this doesn't have it. (PS I love the puddle of food Mexican restaurants). What it does have high quality, locally sourced food, with great service. I highly recommend the gringas con mole. They will fix it for you even if it's not on the menu.
The food was really delicious. They blend NW and Yucatan food to perfection. So good. They are super popular. On a Monday there was a wait at peak time for inside. They have your own covered pod outside that is heated. They do not take reservations be prepared to wait in peak times. Worth the wait...?
