I have been to this location many times, and beforehand the food was always great.I got take-out the other day at the downtown location, and not only were most of the sweet potato fries burnt when I got them, but they were also shoestring sweet potato fries and when I mean shoestring, I mean *literally* no wider than a shoestring would be, which made them very difficult to handle trying to eat more than one at a time, before they went cold. When I asked the cashier, she said that is the style they cook their fries now. Really? When did that change?? As long as they are prepped that way, I would never want to get them again.
Took knee 20 minutes to get the food which was made sloppily and served without care. Seems in store customers are less important than to go orders. Never will come back. Too expensive for people and a system that don’t care When I went back to the counter to check on my order the expediter did rush my sandwich and it still took another six minutes. They hadn’t even started it. And…. Now 22 minutes into this mess I’m told they don’t have sauerkraut. What the actual heck is going on here. Just lousy service for too expensive food. Stay away. As an end piece they did offer me free fries but I can’t have those so it was a no go.
I'm not vegan, but decided to give them a shot, and was pleasantly surprised. Had the buffalo chicken sandwich and found it a little heavy on the mayo, but the crunch added by the butter pickles made the sandwich interesting. Also had a side of the garlic broccoli, and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Even cold, it was delicious. Definitely worth a lunch.
Veggie grill is one of my favorite places on Earth. They have new items per season to the menu, but I go for the buffalo wings, which is my favorite item on the menu. My daughter Allison hate it first but then she start going with me the last time she enjoyed it as well she said it was all right. My wife goes for the sweet potato fries they put the fake cheese on top and it's very nice. This location specifically has very nice patio that you can eat outside. The soups are nice too but I'm not a soup person so I got for the hot tickets on the menu. The Buffalo bomber sandwich is amazing make sure you try it with fries with Aoli. Overall I wish veggie grill is everywhere because now are very limited locations mostly for the people at the coast.
The bowls are so good here. Super tasty with loads of complex flavors and types. I had the Far East bowl and came back to have it again. Has fresh mint for an extra touch. Coming back tonight for the Kale and QuinoaMoreover the place is spacious and clean with friendly staff. Hit all my high points for healthy traveling food.
I went here for Valentine's Day with my partner and the food was amazing :) Everything is vegan which is perfect for me and my non vegan partner really enjoyed the food too! The dessert is also really good
I haven't had a Ruben since going vegan and this one really hit the spot. Just wish they didn't burn the bread ? Not a fan of the Mac and cheese- no flavor. But the sandwich really made it all worth it.
The food is good! Although I find a couple dishes maybe a little under-seasoned, the portions are so large you can take home enough for two more meals and spice it however you like. Their fake meat options are all amazing. The staff are kind, but not so overly familiar you feel uncomfortable. An excellent vibe.
Sadly disappointed. We make a point of stopping every time we come through PDX on business or pleasure, we live 7 hours away in Brookings. On a mid week visit, stopped and ordered dinner to go. Got to the hotel and realized they had forgotten one of our meals. No big deal, right? We called, explained the situation and were basically told, "Sorry- can't do anything for you. Can't refund the price of the meal, can't deliver it to your hotel via our contracted delivery services, you have to walk back for it or wait for a manager to call you." PS? No one called us for FOUR days and then said the same thing. Come in for your refund otherwise, F you.Never met a Point of Sale that can't refund a portion of the sale. It's sad to lose a vegan option, but it's sadder to experience McDonalds style customer service in downtown Portland. Good Luck Veggie Grill- you're gonna need it.
Why does everything have to be spicy? I told them that I wanted the nachos without the spice and they told me ok. When I get to the hotel and I try them, they were burning hot. I meant it's ok if you can't change it, but in that case, tell me! Don't give me food I won't be able to eat.
