I live locally and have come here for over 10 years. The food is terrific and includes many vegetarian options. The family and their employees are always warm and kind. We are fortunate to have them in our neighborhood!

Amazing food, service, and ambiance! My partner and I were traveling and found this gem for dinner. The house made pasta was the best! The sommelier recommended a wine and it was delightful!Everything about the experience was perfect! If you’re in the area, you MUST try this! ?

If you are trying to have a good Italian experience: Stop immediately! Food was mediocre and the service was so bad that I had to give 2 stars only. We went last weekend for dinner. My drink, an Aperol Spritz for $15, only filled 2 fingers of the glass. When we ordered a bottle of wine, the server brought it to the table partially open and she asked if anyome wanted to try it or should i just pour it out??? My fruto de Mare pasta had 2 shrimps and 5 or 6 shells of the clams without the seafood. just the shells ! Finally, we asked for the flour- less chocolate cake for the birthday, and it was stale and dry.We asked for tiramisu and they did not have it. When the bill came, the tiramusu and the chocolate cake were on there and we had to have it adjusted. Just another overrated, expensive restaurant in the Pearl.

Portland has so many good Italian restaurants, and this is one of the best, now with two dining rooms plus outdoor seating. It’s hard to go wrong with an thing on the menu.

My mother, sister and I were visiting Portland over Mother's Day and came in for a last-minute dinner. What a delight. First off, our server was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the whole menu, and everything she brought us was delicious. I ordered the pasta pomodoro and it was simple but just spot-on in terms of flavor and texture. My favorite aspect of the meal was the cocktail I ordered. I'm not super knowledgeable about wine - if you are, then you've got lots of options! - so I went for the sfumato and soda cocktail. And it was FANTASTIC. I ordered two of them and when I got home, I asked my husband to recreate it for me. He called the bartender, who gave him the scoop! Super nice. A cool place staffed by good people.

Wow I went to dinner to celebrate my father's birthday with family members I haven't seen in 10 years. Immediately I was singled out and made fun of for not understanding the Italian culture and being very well dressed. The bartender in particular antagonize me and mocked in the background every time I said anything. Horrible people here and will never return

Veramente buono!Had dinner with my family and enjoyed every thing we had on the table: crostini with tomatoes, with liver pate', penne with tomato sauce, swordfish, braised wild boar, gelato and tiramisu! Felt like at home in Tuscany.

In Portland from out of town to visit family, saw Trattoria Gallo Nero with many good reviews. They comfortably accommodated 17 of us for a great family lunch. Great service, great food (the Carbonara Tartufo was the hit), nice little bar, just great all around. Certainly recommended.

I'm convinced that if God personally came down to Earth and made Italian food, it would be disgusting compared to the heavenly glory that this place serves. I'm afraid to ever eat again in case unworthy food taints the same tongue that this extraordinary lasagna just blessed.

Food was so tasty, drinks were spectacular(although small for the price) and the staff so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Strozzapreti with prosciutto!! Such a rich flavor!
