Really tasty food. The samosas, meatballs, and curry were all delicious. Not overly hot, but flavorful and well spiced. Good portion sizes, certainly plenty to share. A really good new find.

My new favorite restaurant in Portland. Vegan options galore!

I’ve never seen a Burmese place before. Loved this quaint little restaurant! Great decor and great service. They seated us right before closing. Unfortunately there weren’t indoor spots to experience their robot server, but sitting outside was still nice on a warm day.Tried the jackfruit curry. Great alternative to meaty dishes. The texture is like slow cooked meat, without the grease and the heaviness. It was a tad on the sour side, but I still enjoyed it with a nice pot of jasmine tea.The noodles were also good.

Coconut noodle soup, Chicken curry with coconut, Shan noodles with tofu, tofu tots, samosas- everything we've tried has been mind-blowingly tasty. The curries are milder, but to me, less blinding heat gives the other flavors a chance to really shine in Burmese dishes, and these really do!The Burma Blue cocktail is a delicious way to cool off after a nice long walk around downtown Portland, and if that's not your style, you will surely find a cocktail, beer, wine, or n/a beverage from the varied list that will do the trick!

This place is great, Not to formal but so cute and feels fancy. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! I will definitely be back and this will be one of my go to places.

We had a fantastic experience at Top Burmese Burman Joy. Outstanding service and delicious, beautiuful, healthful food. This is an excellent choice for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

It was my first time eating Burmese food. Very tasty!

We enjoyed the robotic delivery of our waters and pleasant service. We ordered samosas, the green tea salad, coconut beef curry and coconut sensation for dessert. All were delicious. I would order all again except the curry which was not to my taste which may be more a result of the fact that I almost never eat beef than to the preparation. I am a great fan of all things coconut so gave it a try. Glad to see the active atmosphere come back post-COVID. We appreciated being able to dine here outside during the pandemic but this is oh, so much more fun!

Burmese is not a cuisine which I eat regularly; thus I have nothing to really compare this with. But Burma Joy is a cheery, attractive space with good quality food and excellent service. I would have liked a little more punch with the food and it was a touch bland but the portions were excellent and the value level was excellent for NW Portland. I would definitely recommend this place.

Checked out this place on a whim and so glad we did! Firstly…the environment is really nice and inviting. Staff is friendly…AND they have super cute robots that bring out your food.We loved our samosas, golden hill noodles with chicken and tea leaf chicken curry. Everything had a unique and fresh flavor. We will be back with friends! ?
