This cozy little spot serves some of the best German food I've ever had in the country! The staff is quite passionate about food and hospitality in general. I came here several times during my weekend stay in Portland- and not once did the meals ever miss! Highly recommend the Beef Rouladen and Spätzle.
We loved our experience here. We came for breakfast on a Friday. It was so great to see so many gluten free options in one place. The chef/owner was great to talk with. It was a nice relaxing environment. This is a fantastic option for anyone that has Celiac. The food was delicious!
Lovely service, amazing decor and delicious cuisine! Must have homemade bread and handmade sausage if you go. Beautiful brunch with friends.
We had the herbed savory crepes with plum sauce and they were Amazing. I got the stroganoff (pictured) and it's rich and tender - so delicious. I ordered the vanilla/cherry/champagne cocktail and it was basically perfect. I'm celiac so the gluten free options were essential. I will definitely be back, I can't understand why their dining room wasn't packed full with such great offerings.
Really amazing service, very tasty food, and a nice atmosphere. It wasn't too busy and we really enjoyed the romantic ambience. There were lots of gluten-free options on the menu and we really loved the food! We would definitely visit again when we are in the area.
Was so happy to find this gluten free gem in SE Portland! My partner and I stopped in for weekend brunch. We couldn’t decide between all the delicious options so we shared the eggs Benedict, apple fritters and Austrian pancake. All the dishes were superb but those apple fritters are to die for!! They make their own speciality syrups as well. My favorite was the lavender and my husband preferred the hibiscus. The atmosphere and service were outstanding to boot. We’ll definitely be back!!
Excellent experience! Nice rustic decor, homemade excellent food. The sausage was made in house and the quality shone, excellent flavor and texture. The schnitzel was excellent, portions were on point, not heavy, great flavor, satisfying without being heavy. The red cabbage was very well prepared, as were the horseradish mashed potatoes. Highly recommend!
Wow! The Austrian Pancakes were so amazing that we came back to back mornings! The home made syrups were delicious and the chef was very accommodating to our food allergies. I recommended to anyone who is gluten free!
This place is incredible! The chef/owner makes everything from scratch & every dish is a truly a delicacy. Extensive menu with tons of gluten free and vegan options. The tofu sausages are amazing and I highly recommend the Kaisershcmarrn pancake and banana bread French toast. Thank you Eugene. We’ll be back!
Wonderful experience. Delicious food, unique creative menu with plenty of GF and vegan options. Everything handmade from scratch. One highlight was the plum Austrian pancake. The decor and atmosphere is fun mid-century.
