I’ve eaten at many Asian restaurants in my life, and I’m struggling to remember any Asian food experience like Thai Yummy. Yeah, I know…a food cart, right?I have no idea how they make the food this good, but they do! It’s hands down the best Thai I’ve ever eaten, and quite possibly the best Asian food as well. (My wife is Asian, so I’m very familiar with great Asian food).Give it a try. You’ll be back!
Just ordered delivery from here and the food was super hot and delicious! Thai tea was also really good and I appreciate the thank you note written on the box! Very sweet!
Work and live up here and this is probably one of my favorite places to grab food at in the Portland Area. Always tastes amazing, the staff are wonderful, and the thai coffee is delicious. Delicious food, big portions, great price, quick service, amazing staff - you literally couldn't ask for anything better. I usually call ahead and ask for pick up, never more than 15 or so minutes but it can get a little busy just on the corner there since it's so popular!
This place is the BEST. If you're on Marquam Hill/around OHSU and need food there is absolutely nowhere better to go than Thai Yummy. I have seen several Thai places with sit-down seating open and fail on the hill simply because they can't compare to the quality, quantity, and affordability of the food here. Everything on their menu is excellent, especially the Pad Krua Gai, Pad See-Ew, and Pad Woon Sen. Also, their "Ooh La La" Wings are absolutely outstanding. Places that specialize in wings don't hold a candle to them. I would give 7 stars if I could.
If you're reading this and wondering, "Hmm, should I (we) go here..." the answer is yes. Yes, your search is over. Make the trip to Thai Yummy. Especially if you're new to OHSU. Portland has tons of good Thai food places, but Thai Yummy is the best. It's sort of a hidden gem because although it's well-known at OHSU, it's the lone food truck up on the hill so a lot of Portlandians don't make the trip up. You should.I've been coming here for almost 5 years, I've ordered everything from the Basil Fried Rice to the Pad Prik King to the Yellow Curry and they're all fantastic. By far my favorite is the Pineapple Fried Rice (w/ chicken, spice level: medium plus). It is literally my favorite meal in Portland. The chicken is delicious and tender, the initial spiciness from the rice is countered with the tanginess of the pineapples, followed by a hit of sweetness from the raisins and soft cashew nuts (and I don't even like nuts in my food) and a final hit of spiciness from the crunch of flavored onions. All in one bite.Summary:-Delicious food-VERY fast (~10 min from ordering to eating)-Owner is awesome-super affordable prices-not one mistake w/ my order ever
This place is great! We live in Eugene but my wife and daughter found this Thai shop near OHSU a couple years ago year. This was my first time and I ordered the barbecue pork fried rice and loved the fresh flavor. My son got the same but without the onions and they were happy to cater to his mild spice request. My wife had the Pad Woon Sen and thought the sauce on the noodles is the best she's found in Oregon! My daughter got the Pra Ram with chicken and a big side of peanut sauce. She especially loved the fresh carrots and the peanut sauce. We also ordered a side of spring rolls and it came with a side of plum sauce. It came with 4 rolls, one for each of us. For drinks, my wife got a Thai iced tea and my daughter got a Thai lime tea that she thought was fantastic! The Thai lime tea, I think, is a drink we haven't found at any other Thai place. You have got to try this place!
Great food, staff and service!! We had an extended stay at OHSU so we were able to try a variety of the menu items. Never disappointed!! You can't go wrong by eating at Thai Yummy!!
I was craving Chinese food and couldn't find any good places that had the kind of food I wanted, I came here instead and It was even better, my tummy was really happy, plus the view of Mount Helen and Hood knocks other restaurants out of the park.
This is the BEST Thai food in Portland area. Food is always spot on flavor. Plenty for the low cost. Wonderful cook and nicest owner. Can't say enough except wish it closer to home.
