I had the carnitas taco, fish taco, and ceviche. Everything was great! The tacos are $6 each for substantially sized tacos. The ceviche was $10. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. The restaurant has a good ambiance. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely a good value. I can’t wait to come back!Note: it’s order at the counter
Based on three trips- family friendly and pretty decent tacos, ceviche and margaritas. But why is the lowest default tip set at 25%? Order at the till, bus your own stuff, and the only ‘service’ Is your order being brought your table where you’ll find a card defining rules of the restaurant!
Carnitas tacos were good. I gave it 4 stars as my chips for salsa order were all small, or mostly small. It’s really hard to scoop salsa onto a small broken chip. I also thought the chips would be warm as well - they were not. I did come in at 5 minutes to closing, but it’s a nice summer warm night out and it’s only 8pm. I get they must be tired, I say if your going to serve small chips then it should be free. I wouldn’t have complained if the chips and salsa was free. Just saying.
Tacovore wins a lot of points just for being SO EASY to feed anyone. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, small portion eaters, big portion eaters, high protein, whatever - you don't just get one token option. You get actual variety. It's also *very* tasty. My favorite is their rotating season veggie bowl. Tacos and salads are great too. I haven't personally had them but high marks on cocktails from the rest of the group.Outdoor seating is plentiful and dog-friendly. Parking is easy. The missing star is because holy fudge is everything 20% saltier than it needs to be.
Beautiful, tasty tacos. Flavorful and fresh. Today we got carnitas and the “carnivore” taco. So so so good.
When Tacovore launched in Eugene, I was in heaven. Tacos were stacked, drinks were stiff, and it had a lively atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they opened a location in Portland that is also pretty close to where I live.I don't know if I am just spoiled on food in Portland or what, but the magic just isn't there for me anymore. The tacos I used to love for being overstuffed are now *too* stuffed to eat without a fork. Prices are pretty high, if my partner and I get 2 tacos each with some chips and a couple of Margaritas, it is a ~70 dollar bill. I think there are some more affordable taco options in town that hit the spot in the same way.
I’m impressed with how flavorless they were able to execute these tacos. Thank god I’m white and had some hot sauce at home. Very filling. Could use more salt in everything. And flavor. If it wasn’t for the really gross tasting carrots I would’ve thought I had covid
Fun neighborhood atmosphere and good food! I’d agree with some other reviews that the tacos are overstuffed with meat which makes getting all of the flavors in one bite challenging. I found that their vegetarian tacos are far superior to their meat counterparts.
Love this neighborhood place. The tacos are amazing and great margaritas and good selection of beers on tap. Family friendly and fun place with friends. Indoor and outdoor seating. Line can get long to order (they bring food out to you if you staying to eat). Pro-tip: If ordering additional drinks, you don't have to wait on the long initial line, just go up to the bar area and order...
1 star review for some pretty simple reasons....For the cost of a single taco (7$) and overly priced poorly mixed drinks you would expect maybe the following:Table service. Your tablet asks for a generous 25% tip but your establishment does basically the same service (but pricier) that Chipotle or Qdoba provides. Maybe have the generous amount of labor on hand wait tables? Sitting and making sour faces (see poorly mixed drinks) at each other while deciding what to eat, only to have to walk back up to order is just stupid. You are a restaurant not a food cart.Price vs. Quantity: not much to say here. Everything is basically more expensive than well every other decent taco joint in PDX. The meat is pre-made and on a steamer so it isn't like the quality is in the price. Heck, you even charge for chips and salsa?Service pt. 2: Again, your model is a restaurant right? Bussing tables is what your staff get paid for. Your customers shouldn't have to. We'll, unless you are just modeling yourself as a fast food restaurant that charges too much. Also, requiring people to get their own water, go get their own hot sauce, stop eating to go ask for another drink that they have to pick up and bring to the table themselves. Come on, I know this is Portland and in a nice neighborhood but we aren't slumming. There are easy ways to fix what could be a business that lasts in that spot. I acknowledge that you have great reviews and maybe those are just people glad to see a nonshuttered business at that spot. Or who haven't been to the myriad of great taco stands and spots in our fair city. This place made me miss having Cha Cha Cha! A few blocks away.
