Authentic Irish bar serving a Proper Pint of Guinness. We love TCs and have been coming here since it opened. Friendly service, great whiskey selection and excellent Fish & Chips. Our favorite pub in Portland!
Really good music that will make you happy. Good food. Great drink. Wonderful staff.
Really poor service..I came here with a few friends while we were visiting from out of town. We tried to order a round of “car bombs” and were told they don’t serve them due to the insensitive nature of the name in regard to Irish history. Totally understand the reasoning and have actually been aware of this for years. The problem is that we were told this in a way that I would classify as shaming. The bartender was incredibly rude about it and instead of taking the opportunity to educate people on the “why” or offering an alternative, I felt that we were wholly unwelcome there from that point forward.I’d recommend if this is a stance that this bar is going to take, that management trains their staff on how to handle these requests without coming across as pretentious. I 100% sympathize with the stance to not make the drink but there is zero chance I would ever go back based on how we were treated.
I went here a month or so ago with some friends and we all left a bit let down. Servers/Bar staff were a bit short/rude and the food mostly ranged from "meh" to "bad". The shepard's pie tastes like instant mashed potatoes, fries were burnt and my fish (with my fish and chips plate) were soggy. I did, however think the brussels sprouts plate was ok. I would go back here, but only to check out their extensive Irish whiskey collection, get a giant glass of Guinness, or to check out some live music.
This is an authentic Irish pub. Friendly and welcoming staff and community! A truly magical place and the musical events are amazing!!
This place is nice, but seems they get overwhelmed very easily. My wife and I had purchased a beer let them know our table and they brought it within a few minutes. We had finished that round and I went up to order another one and he told me I had to wait about 15 minutes to order another, the reason is because "they were so busy". So we left.
A bit hectic but the food and atmosphere was good. Enjoyed watching the dancing on St. Patrick's day.
Not just and Irish bar but a Boston-Irish too :) For my partner it reminds him of his favorite places back home. For me it feels like home with music and stories every week. There’s good food (the brussels!), a staff that hustles hard and stays friendly no matter how crazy busy it is, with an owner who is an excellent host, pouring pints and running food too. I’m so glad I found this gem.
Great cocktails and an excellent selection of whiskey as well as classic good Irish pub food and a few twists. The service was not just fast but also very friendly and fun. The owner even came by to talk to us. Highly recommend.
Good selection of irish whiskey, and a mix of both local beers and national/international.
