Average coffee. Average croissant. Not the best french bakery in the town. I’ve had better. Please don’t waste your caffeine or croissant intake if you’re in Portland for a short time.
I needed a small something and ordered the fennel raisin roll. Was not sure how I would like that, but it was fresh, had a great crust and super moist and soft in the middle. Just plain yummy.
I had a mixed experience with the food here, I loved my drink and my chocolate croissant but I received a very uninspiring Brie and herb sandwich. The sandwich had no seasoning- no salt, no butter, Mayo, pepper. It was just a few slices of Brie, a few cucumber slices, and a sprinkling of greens. I just feel for a sandwich over $10 it could use a little more effort.
I just recently purchased a fruit tart and quite frankly it was horrible, the fresh fruit on top was good and it looked beautiful but the crust was thick and dense and the worst part was the pastry cream! Clearly made with milk and thickened with cornstarch instead of egg yolks and not a hint of vanilla.Really disappointing.
Excellent desserts. We had the black forest cake. It was so good we had to try the Strawberry Millefiulle. Glad we stoped.
Loved every bite! Bought a whole lox !
If you have any shred of dignity you would avoid this place. Saint Honore allows their female staff to be treated like dirt and fires them for speaking out against men that work there. Think about this before you go here. It’s not worth it, half the pastries are frozen and they use the cheapest ingredients available.
Beautiful corner bakery with a nice Parisian vibe. Wonderful pastries and staff. Fantastic place to chill on a sunny afternoon.
We were visiting PDX for a week. Despite our desire to try different places, St. Honore was too good to not return. The pastries and breakfast goods were simply perfect. This is less like going to to a typical bakery and more like having a front row seat to admire how artisans bring French baking to live. Of course, you can also just sit, talk, enjoy coffee, company, and the ambience.
Atmosphere was really nice, it felt like you'd been transported to France. The service was also very helpful, good suggestions on what we should get. And finally the food was delicious.
