It's unfortunate the patio is ruined because they permit smoking all over it. What could be a nice outdoor seating area is intolerable due to the perpetual cloud of smoke. Inside is really dark, which is fine I guess, but the there are plenty of other dark, windowless bars in the area which make better drinks and have more beers on tap. Disappointing because this place had potential.
Caylee is a wonderful mixologist. If you're looking for a great brunch spot, this is your place
The Space Room holds a special place in my liver, er, my heart. The bar has only gotten better over the 25+ years that I have been going there. The knowledge behind the bar, especially on the weekends is bar none. (See what I did there?) Unparalleled service muddled with retro decor makes this place a great spot for a group. The outdoor heated patio rocks the social distancing, and it is dog friendly to boot. Classic bar fare and a pinball arcad3. Come here, drink and enjoy yourself!
The place itself is big and the way it's styled is cool. That Julie chick behind the bar was super rude. She's on some kinda ego trip or something, which is funny for a bartender who doesn't know the difference between tonic and soda. My first gin and soda came with tonic, so I came back to switch it out for what I ordered. She gave me a gin and tonic AGAIN. I just drank it even tho I don't like tonic water. Will avoid this place so we don't end up with her again
Cute place- the art is still in the midst of being painted; new things to gaze at on the weekly. Glow in the dark- black light lighting. Very Portland. Pinball machined- warning! - no refunds, play at your own risk; won't fix or provide lost money into the machines- packman; both TTwo player and 4 player tables, shooting games- fun, retro, good food. Interesting crowd.
My feelings about this bar are super mixed. I love the food, ambiance and the drinks are usually on par with other local establishments. The reason Spaceroom doesn’t get more stars from me is due to the amount of times I’ve received extremely rude “service” from one bartender specifically. The last time I popped in, I witnessed her make a drink order incorrectly (leaving out an ingredient the patrons asked for), taking her sweet time standing and making small talk to an annoying extent while there was a long line waiting. She then added ice to an already relatively full glass, picking up the spilled ice from the bar with her bare hand, putting the ice into the glass and tapping it down with her bare hand. I think my jaw about hit the floor. I could not believe what I was seeing. She was handling money, touching her face and hair all before touching the ice that she picked up off the dirty bar and didn’t wash her hands in between.I’d suggest watching the bartenders here and asking politely if they’d wash before making your drinks if they fail to do so. Also don’t forget, tips are earned. If they don’t earn the tip, don’t feel obligated to leave one.
Bartenders really took care of me , this place is awesome does have a space vibe with flying spaceship lights and games . Cool local Bar ....
My favorite bar in town. Good, cheap food. Breakfast all day. Strong drinks. And the staff is amazing.
Very awesome low key place. Nice giant booths and fun black light murals of awesome Sci fi characters. Decent little arcade with a very chill vibe in the bar lounge.Great spot!
Super comfy bar with an amaz-awesome outdoor space. The menu is a fusion of greasy spoon and pub. Unfortunately it was a bit above okay. Didn't regret trying their biscuits and gravy but I was merely whelmed by them. Bar staff were wicked friendly though.
