Food was decent, at least what I ordered. My partner’s food was nasty but not the cook’s fault. Whoever came up with their summer grilled chicken sandwich apparently has no taste buds. Staff was scattered some seemed to be pulling their own weight and the weight of others while they chatted. No order to anything, seemed chaotic. Our waitress’ fingernails and hands were incredibly dirty and it did not look like it was from normal work things and it made me not want to finish my food. I told myself “it’s ok she’s just serving it, not preparing it.” While waiting 10 min at the counter to pay (I was the only one at the counter there wasn’t a line) I witnessed my waitress getting a piece of pie for someone WITH HER BARE DIRTY HANDS. And yes, I mean she put her hands directly on that persons pie to take it off the pie server. The whole piece! I will never eat at this particular Shari’s again.
On Saturday evening my husband called to place an order for me while I was driving. He just ordered me an appetizer & drink. He specified that it was for curbside pickup because I was exhausted & didn’t want to get out of the car. When I arrived I called the number on the curbside pickup sign & the lady who answered was very rude & told me that they don’t do curbside for call-in orders anymore. I told her my husband literally just called to place my order & that he asked for curbside & she made me feel like an idiot for not knowing they don’t do it anymore. I ended up having to go in to pay & pickup my order. Wasn’t impressed with the service at all.Food was good.
Really used to love this place service at this location has been bad the last few times I've been there. Probably more of a Portland thing sense our city has been on a downward spiral. Hashbrowns burnt to the point of about busting your teeth to eat chicken fried steak and eggs over cook, and weighted 2 hours for my wife and sons food.
Management needs to give its staff the support it needs, rather than maximize their own bottom line by putting the burden of running the restaurant on their beleaguered workers. Our server couldn't be nicer. Unfortunately the deep fryer was out of service and I wasn't able to get my first choice. The kitchen was training and the egg of my Benedict was very nicely poached. The sauce was off and the (whole wheat) muffin was not toasted. Clearly the kitchen has talent but I'd have to imagine their details are suffering because of the aforementioned staffing issue.Things were made right. I was offered a complimentary slice of pie but I left the building hungry. To the franchise owner, please hire more people. Please pay them fairly. Please treat them with dignity. If you don't, someone else will.
Really good food. We come here when we have to work in Portland. Wednesday is free slice of pie day, so make sure you go then and try a wonderful slice. Service has always been great and friendly and the price isn't bad. For around $17.00 i had 2pcs country fried steak and gravy, salad and mashed potatoes.
I felt the prices were very reasonable. The meal I ordered was a common meal item prepared as a reasonable person would expect. The pie was great. But, it's hard to find a pie not great. For me, I often find chefs in Portland switching up common offerings in order to stand out. Once in a while I don't mind exploring something new, but I felt really grateful to receive a meal that tastes and expected as I have had in many restaurants over many years.I made a deal with myself to avoid chain restaurants, but Shari's will be an exception.
Comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. The booths and tables need to be updated especially the ones with rips in the seats.
Honestly, I had a couple things come up that I did not like. Normally detractors as such, (none will be mentioned) are enough to lower my review from the 5 star landing I'm sticking with. However, my server had such an amazing attitude, that service beats all else in this case. Come here for good food and Fantastic service!
Nice to see they are 24 hours again because the other option would have been Denny's near mall 205.... Which is kinda sketchy after midnight. Food was as good as I remembered. Our waitress was fantastic and super friendly, as well as being funny. The atmosphere at 3 am was definitely more relaxed than I was expecting, which is fine by me. Thanks to my weird schedule, it's hard to find a good meal besides fast food this late. They will always be a good pick, especially for breakfast. I recommend this location due to the proximity of the airport and the freeway, and being a short drive from where I live.
Very good late night dinner due to a lady's arrival at the airport. Restaurant still under Covid restrictions, it is not yet back to being open 24 hours per day. Staff was very friendly and met all of our needs. We were very happy to find an open restaurant to get food at 11:40 pm.
