I get food here all the time because it's the only thing around here open late. The food is pretty decent for the price, I'd give the food 4 stars, but the old hispanic lady is super rude! She is the reason they get 2 stars. She is rude every time I come in. Tonight she wouldn't give me the food I ordered and tried to tell me they didn't have it. When I asked her to cancel my order, she lied to me and told me she couldn't that I had to cancel it myself which I have no way to then storms off telling me she's to busy to deal with me when there is literally one table in the place. When I asked for the manager, he came out with my food. I don't know what this lady's problem is or why she is even employed if she act like this. Please, please hire another waitress, she is rude and I order my food to go so I hardly have to deal with her.
I gave a one star because the food was better than the service. My family drove 2 hours to Portland to visit the Zoo and stopped at Shari's on 7451 SW Garden Home Rd. before going home. The older server, a woman, separated my family (4 women, 2 babies) from the other participant's on the opposite side of the restaurant for starters. The table was dirty, upon bringing the drinks she spilled one nearly getting it all over one of the babies and she didn't remember one of the drink order. She was fumbling and talking bad about other employees. She said "Oh, I forgot the straws. She also forgot utensils and condiments. Whenever she did show up to our table in between forgetting one thing or another she would make excuses saying "I finally was able to find time from all the distractions." She proceeded to say over and over "No one wants to work anymore, I don't know if you work..." She was assuming in her tone and disrespecting other employees that we were among the unemployed. She was not a great server nor a good one. Visiting Portland for the first time was great but ended on a sour note with this old enough and should have known better server.
Unfortunately the worst thing happened when we were dinning there for breakfast. One our plates had a long hair underneath the hash browns. So gross! What made it worst we only got our two coffee discounted. I couldn’t finish my meal even after they replaced it. Just made me paranoid. I will not be dining there again.
We ordered an Eggs Benedict dish with stuffed hashbrowns (no bacon) and the Santa Fe breakfast Burrito (Substitute Impossible Saugage, because climate change) with french fries. Everything was tasty, our server was friendly, everything came out quickly. Lovely little brunch experience, no complaints.
This is a great place for a filling sit-down meal any time of the day. The menu is quite broad and the prices are reasonable. Good service is to be expected, and this was no exception on my last visit. I usually order breakfast, served all day, but lately I have been ordering off the honored menu where the portions are smaller. Good salmon plate. I don't often order pie, but their pies are quite good. One way or another, this is a great place for dessert. Regardless of which meal is eaten, I'm always looking forward to the next visit. The service is usually very good.
Sydney did French braids for my daughter's dance competition and they were wonderful. She was so nice to her, the braids were pretty, well done and the first person to do them without hurting my daughter.We will be back throughout competitions and when they are all over, we will be back for a haircut too. Great experience!
Just ordered a milk Shake and a slice of pie. Had it delivered to my house. The pie was tiny and smashed and no milk shake. Garden home Refused to make it right. Basically I paid for no milk shake and 2 bites of pie. Would avoid this place folks.
I enjoy my late night meals at Shari's. The food is always pretty good but what really stands out is the service. Thyra was very prompt to grab our order, and she was also funny and friendly. I always get the best service at this location, better than any other fine dining restaurant in the area.
Best place to go to at night. Super friendly staff and delicious food. Our server Thyra WAS the best! So nice and helpful with everything! Ask for her if you want the best service there is.
I had a wonderful experience with my server Thyra at the Garden Home Shari’s, she really took care of me and my party’s needs. I would recommend eating there just to talk with her, such a nice lady!
