Possibly the best ice cream store in the world. Incredible flavours with lots of innovation. So impressed with them I bought their recipe book at Powell’s. I’m very lucky to be staying nearby and I’ve been able to walk down every night to try all the flavours. It’s always packed with people queuing up down the street. They’ve inspired me to open my own ice cream shop in Australia. These are my people.
I had their limited flavor of Rose watermelon ice cream and it was surprisingly good. The watermelon really threw me off and I thought it would be decent but it really beat my expectations. I'm currently in line at a different Salt n Straw to get the same ice cream flavor only to be sad because they didn't offer it. I highly recommend you try the Rose before the flavor is no longer offered or before it sells out. They also offer it as a shake!
Wow what a Ice cream place.. never seen such a huge crowd standing in line for ice cream.. their collection is great & service is wonderful.. scoops are quite big & as you can see all of us got one icecrean each and some had two scoops (it was soo big I was not able to finish it even after trying for 30 mins).. would highly recommend if you have sweet tooth
I really did not understand why this place was rated so highly and had a queue before entering until I tried this! I tasted 4 flavors which I short listed, among which I was supposed to choose 1. As the photo suggests it was impossible to choose one and I ended up buying all 4! ? No regrets on money spent.. some on calories consumed! ? Just amazing! Not being into fruit ice creams, Pear and Blue Cheese was a pleasant surprise! Everything else was equally good including the staff's people skills!
1st time going after hearing all the hype. And S&S didn't disappoint. Interesting flavor selections and I went with their house flavors instead of tge cereal based items. Very happy my server suggested samples because the Strawberry vinaigrette w/black pepper doesn't taste anything like I remotely expected.I chose pear and bleu cheese (highly recommend) and sea salt with caramel ribbon (very highly recommend). They scoop generously and the waffle cone tied everything off quite nicely
Good choice of flavors and good quality. Can you find cheaper ice cream? Of course. Can you find similar flavors? Of course.Best selling point for me was that everyone was having it and I like good flavors with chunky ingredients like chocolate chips, cookie dough chunks etc. Thats why I love some of the flavors here. And they have some for those who don't want chunks or just want interesting sorbets. Recommended??
All time favorite ice cream shop!! My favorite ice cream is the salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough. I also love trying their monthly flavors. I like ordering a pint ahead of time to skip the line, but if you get scoops there, definitely get a waffle cone! I don't normally like waffle cones, but Salt & Straw makes them fresh and they are super delicious.
Its freaking amazing ice cream ! What more can you say ? Absolutely enjoy the amazing flavors ,the smooth creamyness and amazing mixes they have here. I'm a salted caramel ribbon guy but have ventured into a limited seasonal once and again and they never disappoint. Don't hesitate, just go have yourself a scoop ,waffle cone if your into that and kick back and enjoy some amazing flavors .
The ice cream was great! Tried all the flavors that sounded weird to me. The pear and Bleu cheese, the pepper and strawberry, the chocolate with potato chips. All of them were surprisingly great! The customer service was warm and informative as well. I would definitely go back and will recommend to others.
I placed my first, and what will be my last, order with Salt & Straw recently. My order consisted of five different flavors of their ice cream. They sent me two of the same flavor and zero of one of the other flavors that I ordered. When I contacted Salt & Straw about correcting their mistake, they refused. In addition to the mistake that they made on my order, one of the flavors that I ordered was Double Bubble Toil & Trouble (i.e. bubble gum ice cream). If you order bubble gum ice cream from any other ice cream establishment on the planet, you get bubble gum flavored ice cream with pieces of gum mixed in. However, for some strange reason, Salt & Straw's bubble gum ice cream is coconut-flavored, which by the way, is not mentioned anywhere on their website. I have an allergy to coconut so now I'm out 2 of the 5 pints of ice cream that I ordered, which means 40% of the money I spent was wasted, and Salt & Straw takes no responsibility for it. You can only make a first impression once, and Salt & Straw blew it. Not only did they make a mistake on my order, but they refused to correct their mistake when it was brought to their attention. Thanks for nothing, Salt & Straw. I'll be purchasing my ice cream elsewhere from now on.
