This chain is like EVERYWHERE in portland, and i totally understand why. The simplicity in their customer-first approach and their well-crafted ice cream makes it an easy favourite. The place runs like a mcdonalds in terms of efficiency, unlike some very laid-back teenage ice cream parlour.

I've been eating Ice Cream for 37 of my 38 years. I have to say Salt and Straw was most definately the best I have ever had. My wife and I shared the blue cheese and pear, and the goat cheese and habanero. We had a party of 10 and every flavor was top notch even my 6 year olds vanilla. Salt and Straw is a must stop when in Portland.

Super yummy ice cream! Lots of unique flavors to choose from. Line was a bit long (out the door), meaning it was popular, but mostly to locals vs tourists. It took about 30 min to get through, but staff take their time helping each customer try the flavors they want. We will have to go back (maybe off hours) and try all the flavors!

They are famous for very unusual flavors of ice cream. They don't offer normal ice cream dishes. The quality is super and the service is excellentPresident Barack Obama whenever he came to Portland. Stopped here for a dish. I highly recommend this place but be prepared to wait and pay a little extra.

I'm always looking for a good ice cream shop when traveling. Was super excited to see the flavors of this place. It was just ok. We had three different flavors (and sampled 2 others before deciding). I wasn't blown away.

Flavors were good, staff was helpful and cheerful, and the concept is cool (especially about working with kids to invent flavors). Prices were high ($7.50/scoop) and choices were limited compared to the competition. In the future, I'll probably go to some place with a more "mom&pop" feel.

Worth its hype. The olive oil ice cream is divine, and the chocolate brownie is super rich and excellent. You can’t even tell the mint chocolate chip is vegan. The flight comes with 4 scoops and a bit of waffle on each, plus two small waffle cones on the side for scooping yourself.

Always love their ice cream and we try the monthly flavors regularly. The strawberry with toasted white chocolate was yummy but my fave is still the Arbequina olive oil!

Wow. Their pear and blue cheese ice cream is the BEST ice cream I've ever had...And I'm old, and traveled to Italy and around Europe... To latin america, Hawaii. And the Caribbean.. to New York and around California.Well done folks. Seriously.

We ordered various flavors using the online system - which was really simple and easy. The pick up was very easy, as it was all ready for me to pick up. We enjoyed the ice cream and will come back for sure.
